Why There Are 2 Episodes Of Daredevil: Born Again Tonight
Daredevil: Born Again episodes 5 and 6 will be released together on Disney+ on March 25, with Marvel Television having good reason for the double drop. The ending of Daredevil: Born Again episode 4 featured a lot of big teases for the show"s future, including the return of the titular hero and his arch-nemesis. As Matt was shown practicing his billy club skills on the roof above his apartment, Wilson Fisk was shown falling back into his Kingpin-esque ways after the reveal that Daredevil: Born Again"s mysterious Adam was his prisoner.
This teased big events for Daredevil: Born Again episode 5, but audiences will be treated to a double drop on March 25. Daredevil: Born Again episodes 5 and 6 will be released on Disney+ together at the show"s usual time, allowing us to witness the next two installments of Matt"s journey back-to-back. This is the first time since Daredevil: Born Again episodes 1 and 2 that two entries of the show have been released together, begging the question of why Marvel Television made this change.
Daredevil: Born Again's Release Schedule Has Ignored Convention The Show Is Changing Things Up

Outside of season premieres or finales, Marvel has rarely released more than one episode at a time for its live-action Disney+ MCU TV shows. This means that Daredevil: Born Again is breaking the mold with episodes 5 and 6, ignoring release conventions.
The reason for this is likely the original plan for the show before it was overhauled. Daredevil: Born Again was initially planned as an 18-episode season, with the overhaul turning nine of those into season 1 and the other nine into season 2. While some changes have been made since the overhaul took place, this story plan largely remains the same, meaning
Marvel likely constructed episodes 5 and 6 as a two-parter of a much larger story. For this reason, Daredevil: Born Again continues ignoring release conventions by releasing them as intended.
Daredevil: Born Again Episode 5 Would Be Under-Appreciated On Its Own The Story Calls For A Big Two Parts

Custom Image by Kai Young From a more storytelling standpoint, Daredevil: Born Again episodes 5 and 6 need to be released together to sell the impact of the story. Daredevil: Born Again episode 5 would likely be undervalued if released on its own, yet episode 6 changes this. As a two-part story, they work much better than if they were released individually a week apart.
The reason for this is the big turning point that is currently happening in the story. As alluded to, Daredevil and Kingpin are close to giving in to their violent natures and clashing once more, with
Daredevil: Born Again episodes 5 and 6 almost typifying these changes. Together, they work to propel the story into its final three episodes, which arguably would not have been as effective had Marvel Television released them one at a time.
