Warning! This article contains spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again episode 6.
Wilson Fisk ripping his suit in
Daredevil: Born Again episode 6 has great significance due to the underlying thematic meaning it represents. The ending of Daredevil: Born Again episode 6 provided what many have been waiting for since episode 1: the return of the titular vigilante. After spending the better part of five episodes at war with himself, Matt Murdock finally chose to return as the Devil of Hell"s Kitchen in a fight against Muse, all so that he could save Daredevil: Born Again"s Angela del Toro.
On the other side of the proceedings, the main villain of Daredevil: Born Again"s cast struggles to contain his own inner conflict with his darker half. Thus far, Wilson Fisk has found it difficult to go about his business legitimately as Daredevil: Born Again"s mayor of New York. In Daredevil: Born Again episode 4, the reveal that Fisk was keeping Adam prisoner only further showcased his need for violence, something that spiraled in episode 6. This culminated in a classic Fisk rage scene, but not before the mayor ripped one of his suits in a symbolic scene for the show.
Kingpin Rips His Suit Jacket In Daredevil: Born Again Episode 6 While His Efforts As Mayor Were Continually Rejected

One of the plot points of Daredevil: Born Again episode 6 saw Mayor Fisk attending an event where he sought funding and approval from New York"s elite for his Red Hook project. In his bid to clean up the docks of New York City, Fisk was searching for aid. Before this event, he was shown getting ready alongside Vanessa, leading to one of his suit jackets ripping as he tried to pull it on. Although this could have been an inconsequential moment, it links to the transition Wilson Fisk is undergoing.
As Fisk tells Vanessa that his "suits aren"t fitting like they were," he is shown at the event trying to win people over to his cause. However, Daredevil: Born Again episode 6 makes it clear that Fisk does not hold much love among New York"s elite, with several people rejecting his offers. One such person is Hawkeye"s Jack Duquesne/Swordsman, who veils a threat to Kingpin given his vigilante nature. As alluded to, Fisk"s rejection being spliced with the suit ripping provides a deal of symbolic meaning for his character arc.

Image via Disney+ The symbolism of Fisk"s suit jacket ripping is that his facade is similarly being torn up in front of our very eyes. The suit jackets in Daredevil: Born Again represent Fisk"s attempts to walk the straight and narrow as the mayor, doing things legally to help the city of New York. Just as the suits do not fit him anymore, neither does this way of life.
Fisk is aching to be free of political appearances, black-tie events, and the general monotony of being a mayor, which the suit-ripping scene typifies in episode 6.
Fisk knows this as well as anyone, with the suit scene and his comment about them not fitting anymore being a subconscious way of confirming that his legal methods are not working...
Fisk longs to take a more hands-on, active approach outside of the constraints, roadblocks, and delays of the political and legal system. To do so, though, Fisk would have to forego being the mayor, drop his benevolent mask, and return to his ways as the villainous crime boss we all knew and loved to hate in Netflix"s Daredevil. Fisk knows this as well as anyone, with the suit scene and his comment about them not fitting anymore being a subconscious way of confirming that his legal methods are not working for him.

It was made clear that the duo needed to commit to their new efforts in order to stay out of each other"s way.
