"As Long As The Fans Are Talking, There's Hope:" Jonathan Majors Addresses Possibility Of Returning To The MCU As Kang The Conquerer

Speaking out after his firing by Marvel Studios, Jonathan Majors opened up about his continued interest in reprising his role as Kang the Conquerer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Majors first played a variant of Kang, known as He Who Remains, in season one of Loki before appearing both as Kang and as his variants in Loki season two and Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. The character was positioned as the next big bad of the MCU following Thanos.
About a month after the latter"s release, the actor was arrested following a domestic dispute, and he was ultimately found guilty of misdemeanor assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree. Shortly after, Marvel fired Majors. Since then, the MCU has changed course, recasting Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and framing him as the next major antagonist in the franchise.
Despite Marvel parting ways with Majors, the actor has been vocal about wanting to return to the franchise. Speaking on The Breakfast Club (via ComicBookMovie.com), Majors said that "it"s not over until it"s over." He offered some optimism regarding his potential reprisal of Kang: "Man, here"s the thing about Marvel: You don"t know until you know."
What Jonathan Majors' Marvel Comments Mean Close Majors has been vocal about wanting to reprise the role of Kang on multiple occasions. According to the actor, "of all the characters [he"s] played, Kang carries a certain novelty and challenge for an actor that [he] would love to play again." Majors then elaborated:
The role is incredible and is unique from any other role I"ve played because of the lexicon of characters that he gets to play. I absolutely want to do it again and, if there"s a way, I"d love to do it again. [...] That"s in the hands of the Disney corporation.
Despite his willingness to return to the MCU as Kang, there don"t seem to be any ongoing talks. Majors apparently penned a letter to Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, though he never heard back. The actor expressed understanding that Feige "was in a tough position," however. Regardless of not having heard back from Feige, Majors stated: "When I hear people talking about it...as long as the streets are talking, as long as the fans are talking, there"s hope."
Our take On Jonathan Majors' Marvel Comments At this stage, it seems unlikely for Majors to return as Kang in any major capacity. Between Majors" legal troubles and the poor reception of Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, the MCU has completely shifted focus away from Kang in favor of Doctor Doom.

Posts 1 While Marvel has—as noted on the podcast—employed actors with controversial pasts such as Downey and Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner, Majors" case was recent, highly publicized, and culminated in a guilty verdict. Disney and Marvel likely do not want their brand associated with him as a result. With that in mind, it is likely that the MCU replacing Kang with Doctor Doom means Majors will not be brought back.
