A Marvel actor has recently returned for the fourth time, and it’s finally time for the studio to make her character officially part of the MCU. Marvel has spent over two decades developing the MCU into a well-respected franchise, and its success has meant that more heroes get to be in the spotlight. There is no shortage of niche characters from Marvel Comics, and having the substantial fanbase that they have means that the MCU can take bigger risks with the characters who get projects.
An obscure Marvel hero who has recently gotten a lot of attention is Squirrel Girl. She is currently featured as a playable hero in the new game Marvel Rivals, and many fans are taking an interest in Doreen Green’s story. She is voiced by actor Milana Vayntrub, who is best known for her roles in This Is Us and numerous AT&T commercials. The game actually isn’t Vayntrub’s first time playing Squirrel Girl, and the fact that Marvel brought her back once again is a sign that she needs to enter the live-action MCU.

The fact that Marvel has brought Vayntrub back to play Squirrel Girl time and time again proves that she’s the best fit for the character. If they do eventually adapt Squirrel Girl into the live-action MCU, there’s no better person to play her than Vayntrub herself.

Despite the show’s failure, Marvel kept Vayntrub on and found a way for her to play Squirrel Girl anyway. With all of the years she’s dedicated to the hero, Vayntrub is undoubtedly one of the best fits to play Doreen’s MCU counterpart.
How Squirrel Girl Could Appear In The MCU Doreen Green Would Fit In With The New Generation Of Avengers Close The Multiverse Saga is a great place for the MCU to introduce Squirrel Girl as so many Marvel characters have already made cameos. An appearance from an obscure character like her wouldn’t feel out of place in a storyline about numerous worlds and timelines. However, there is also plenty of room for her to be officially introduced in the next MCU phase. After Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, there will definitely be new characters introduced as the next generation of Avengers. Doreen is from the same generation of heroes like America and Kamala, so she’d fit right in.
The MCU has also set the stage for Squirrel Girl’s debut with established characters like Deadpool and She-Hulk. In the comics, she is often used as more of a comedic relief and she’s also written as a fourth-wall-breaking character, just like Wade Wilson and Jennifer Walters. As MCU fans have slowly been exposed to meta comedy, a character like Squirrel Girl wouldn’t feel jarring. Vayntrub’s 2024 run as Squirrel Girl is getting a great reception from fans, and it’s a sign that the MCU needs to bring her to live-action sooner or later.
