Epic DC fan art shows what Ben Affleck"s Batman would have looked like if he wielded a Green Lantern ring in the Snydeverse"s Knightmare timeline, seen in the DCEU"s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder"s Justice League. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman has a nightmare where an evil Superman rules the world with an iron fist. Zack Snyder"s Justice League confirmed that the Knightmare timeline is real, and that it can only be avoided by preventing Superman from being corrupted by Darkseid and the Anti-Life Equation.

Powerful heroes like Aquaman and Wonder Woman would die, while characters like Deathstroke, the Joker, and Mera would survive long enough to rebel against Superman and Darkseid. Zack Snyder"s Justice League was originally going to feature John Stewart, who was going to arrive on Earth to meet Batman. Therefore, a Justice League sequel could have seen Ben Affleck"s Batman inherit the Green Lantern ring from a fallen John Stewart to fight Superman in the Knightmare future.
