James Gunn"s Creature Commandos will be released on Max soon, inaugurating the DCU with the introduction of an eccentric team of anti-heroes. DC Comics" Creature Commandos are a team of WWII-era heroes designed as super soldiers. In the source material, the Creature Commandos have gone through several members, including the vampire Vincent Velcro, the werewolf Warren Griffith, and the Medusa-like Gorgon Dr. Myrna Rhodes, as well as next-generation members such as the mummy Aten and the amphibian creature Bogman.
In the DCU, the Creature Commandos will have a new line-up. Creature Commandos" star-studded voice cast will play Rick Flag Sr., Nina Mazursky, Dr. Phosphorus, Eric Frankenstein, the Bride, G.I. Robot, and Weasel. Creature Commandos will tie into upcoming DCU projects such as Superman, Waller, and Peacemaker season 2, and all characters introduced in the animated series will be able to return, both in live-action and animated form, in any future DCU movie or show, played by the same actors.
Creature Commandos Episode 1 & 2 Release At 12am PT / 3am ET On Max Creature Commandos Will Have A Double Episode Premiere

Creature Commandos will be available on Max on Thursday, December the 5th 2024, at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET, with a two-episode premiere. Max"s previous DC series, The Penguin, initially aired on Thursdays before moving to Sundays. This won"t be the case with Creature Commandos, which will air every Thursday without exception from December 5 to January 9. Creature Commandos episode 1 will likely introduce the titular team, and episode 2 will likely raise the stakes for the rest of the series.
How Many Episodes Creature Commandos Has Creature Commandos Episodes Will Be Released Every Thursday Close Creature Commandos consists of seven episodes, each standing at around 20-30 minutes long for a total runtime of 166 minutes — roughly the same runtime as a movie like The Batman. The DCU"s first animated show is shorter than James Gunn"s previous DC show, Peacemaker season 1, which consists of eight episodes, 39-45 minutes each. Creature Commandos episodes 1 and 2 will be available simultaneously on Thursday, December the 5th. Episode 1 is titled "The Collywobbles", and episode 2 is titled "The Tourmaline Necklace".

Creature Commandos features the return of Sean Gunn"s Weasel, introduced in the DCEU"s The Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad"s Rick Flag Jr. may not appear, but his father Rick Flag Sr. will make his debut in Creature Commandos, and he will return in Superman and Waller afterward. Creature Commandos also introduces the DCU"s Clayface, who may eventually cross paths with The Brave and the Bold"s Batman. In short, Creature Commandos is set to be a key installment of the DCU"s first chapter, "Gods and Monsters".
