James Gunn"s Official Hal Jordan & John Stewart Become The DC Universe"s Green Lanterns In Realistic Art

Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre"s Hal Jordan and John Stewart castings get imagined through realistic DC Universe art for the Lanterns series. One of the next major projects that will be going into production soon from DC Universe"s Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" slate is the live-action Green Lantern TV show, Lanterns. The HBO drama will focus on Hal and John, bringing the iconic Emerald Knights to life in James Gunn"s DC Universe.
Earlier in October, Gunn revealed that Chandler and Pierre had been tapped to headline Lanterns as Hal and John, respectively. With the actors officially locked in for their roles, @ShatterverseEnt shared new DC Universe artwork of what Chandler and Pierre may look like as Hal and John in Lanterns. Check it out below.
For Chandler, Lanterns will be his first comic book live-action project he has been involved in, while Pierre is no stranger to it. Pierre starred in the Superman prequel TV show Krypton as Dev-Em and was initially attached to Marvel Studios" upcoming Blade reboot before eventually departing it following several creative retools of the project.
What The Kyle Chandler & Aaron Pierre As Hal Jordan & John Stewart Art Means For Lanterns Close Since Lanterns is reportedly starting filming in January 2025, it speaks volumes that fans are already making art of Chandler and Pierre for their respective roles. One of the mythologies that was heavily left out from the DCEU movie timeline was the Green Lantern Corps, as a team-up film between Hal Jordan and John Stewart was in development hell for years before the franchise was brought to an end in 2023. As fans have only gotten Hal through Ryan Reynolds" poorly received 2011 Green Lantern movie, John hasn"t even had the chance to shine in live-action to this point.
Through Gunn"s DC Universe set to feature them already, seeing that the Lanterns TV show already has such massive support for their leading men shows that there is interest to see this corner of the DC realm explored properly. With Hal and John being some of the most famous Green Lanterns in the entire lore, the DC Universe is already taking advantage of focusing on these beloved characters. Even though the show may not arrive next year, the audience will get a taste of the Green Lantern mythology in Gunn"s Superman movie in 2025 with Guy Gardner, which may offer a clue or two about Lanterns.
Our Take On Kyle Chandler & Aaron Pierre As Hal Jordan & John Stewart For DC Universe's Lanterns With an established talent like Chandler as Hal, while Pierre, who is a star on the rise, portrays John, it will be fascinating to see what they bring to the Lanterns TV show as the leading duo. Since Lanterns will also be extremely crucial for the overall storyline of the DC Universe, time will tell what other characters may factor into the series. Hopefully, more news on Lanterns will arrive in the coming months as they get ready for principal photography in early 2025.
