However, The Mandalorian season 3, episode 7 features more definitive connections than anything that's come before, even confirming past hints that give more context to the rising First Order. The episode also manages to build off Star Wars media outside the sequel trilogy, creating a more cohesive timeline and setting up future stories.
Revealing more connections between the Empire and the First Order demonstrates Lucasfilm's attempt to expand the sequel era timeline, especially after the 3 new Star Wars movie announcements. Her presence within the New Republic suggests that the Imperial Remnant may have more operatives like her, sabotaging the galactic government from within, and other Star Wars media supports this. Star Wars: Bloodline by Claudia Gray revealed that many New Republic senators were secretly First Order spies in the years leading up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
