The New Kraven the Hunter Footage Proves Yet Again Just How Ridiculous Quicksilver"s Death In The MCU Was

Sony released an eight-minute clip from Kraven the Hunter"s opening scene, which unintentionally proves just the absurdity of Quicksilver"s death in the MCU"s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Sergei Kravinoff makes his debut in Sony"s Spider-Man Universe with a solo movie of his own, J.C. Chandor"s Kraven the Hunter. Kraven will be the third comic book character played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, after his starring role in the Kick-Ass duology and his short-lived MCU role as Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Less than two weeks before the movie"s release, Sony released Kraven the Hunter"s first eight minutes. In the clip, Kraven escapes from a maximum-security prison shortly after arriving. The titular anti-hero shows off his enhanced strength, speed, and agility as he evades guards and other inmates. Kraven"s incredible agility allows him to move across and out of the prison effortlessly, and his speed and endurance helps him sprint away without getting shot or caught.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven Is More Agile Than Quicksilver Kraven The Hunter Is Faster At Dodging Bullets Than The MCU's Super Speedster Quicksilver Close In Kraven the Hunter"s opening scene, Aaron Taylor-Johnson"s Kraven is shot directly by multiple machine-gun-wielding guards in an open field, yet he manages to dodge all the bullets and escape unscathed. Meanwhile, Aaron Taylor-Johnson"s Quicksilver, despite gaining actual super speed from Hydra"s experiments with the Mind Stone, was unable to protect himself while saving Hawkeye and a little boy from the Quinjet"s turret at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Therefore, it seems like Kraven the Hunter is somehow faster than Quicksilver — a power discrepancy that would be unthinkable in the source material.

Since the original Quicksilver hasn"t come back from the dead in the MCU and Evan Peters" Quicksilver played a big role in three X-Men movies, the real reason behind Pietro Maximoff"s abrupt death has become evident: Marvel Studios chose to focus on Scarlet Witch while Fox"s X-Men franchise focused on its own version of Quicksilver.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson"s Kraven displays outstanding superhuman skills in Kraven the Hunter"s opening sequence. Kraven climbs up walls, dodges attacks similarly to Spider-Man, and shows off his super strength when he lifts two inmates while bench-pressing. After facing powerful villains like Mysterio, Electro, and Doctor Octopus, an antagonist who"s on par with Spider-Man"s abilities would be a nice change of direction, especially considering that Tom Holland"s Spider-Man no longer has access to Iron Man"s technology. In fact, Sony"s Kraven the Hunter has the perfect mix of grounded skills and multiversal origin that Spider-Man 4 may be looking for in Phase 6.
