Avengers 5 Theory Explains How Venom & Knull Could Be In Spider-Man 4

Tom Holland is coming back for more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a new Avengers: Doomsday theory presents the perfect reasoning for how Venom and Knull could end up in Spider-Man 4. Holland"s Spider-Man movies are easily among the best in the MCU, be it quality-wise or financially. Spider-Man: No Way Home was an Avengers-level event, nearly breaking the $2 billion mark. As such, Sony and Marvel must be having a hard time figuring out whether to continue the setup from Spider-Man: No Way Home"s ending into a street-level story or go back to the multiverse well for more.
Either way, Tom Holland"s Spider-Man 4 is happening. The movie"s story is still being kept a secret, but rumors about the possible returns of Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have already started to emerge. So far, nothing is certain, but with the MCU"s Multiverse Saga entering its final stretch, Spider-Man 4"s placement on the MCU"s schedule seems to suggest that a multiverse story might be what is in store for the movie. Spider-Man 4 is the only film confirmed to be released between the next two Avengers movies, and its possible multiverse story could include Venom and Knull.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Could Die In Avengers: Doomsday Peter Parker Should Be One Of The Film's Key Characters Close As is the case for Tom Holland"s Spider-Man 4, no concrete details about Avengers: Doomsday"s story have been revealed. However, a major announcement has been made, with Robert Downey Jr. back in the MCU to play Doctor Doom in the next two Avengers movies. RDJ"s MCU return instantly points to Holland"s Spider-Man playing a major role in the upcoming Avengers movies. Iron Man was Peter Parker"s mentor in the franchise, and even if Marvel Studios chooses not to make a Tony Stark variant of Doctor Doom, the fact the villain has the same face as Stark should play a role.
Given the popularity of Tom Holland"s Spider-Man, his prior role in two Avengers movies, and Peter"s connection to Downey"s first MCU character, there is a good chance that Holland will have many interactions with Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. An MCU theory views Spider-Man: No Way Home"s ending, with Peter forgotten by the world and sad, as the perfect setup for Doctor Doom to manipulate him. By learning about Tony Stark"s mentor relationship with Peter, Doom could manipulate the hero and eventually kill him. This would give Avengers: Doomsday at least one major death, similar to Avengers: Infinity War"s ending.
The next two Avengers movies are going to be directed by Infinity War and Endgame"s directors, the Russo Brothers. Killing Spider-Man would fit with how the directors built up the stakes between their last two Avengers movies. However, Peter Parker would not be dead for long. The piece of the Venom symbiote that was left in the MCU when Tom Hardy"s Eddie Brock briefly visited the universe in Spider-Man: No Way Home"s post-credits scenes is still there. The symbiote could attach itself to Peter Parker, reviving him and setting up a major multiversal story for Tom Holland"s Spider-Man 4.
Venom: The Last Dance Set Up Knull’s Escape Sony's Spider-Man Universe And The MCU Could Clash Close Venom: The Last Dance marked the final movie in Tom Hardy"s Venom franchise. The latest entry in Sony"s Spider-Man Universe introduced one of the most dangerous villains from Marvel Comics, Knull. The character is the creator of the symbiotes, and the mere mention of Knull"s name struck fear in Venom. In the SSU, Knull tries to escape the prison the symbiotes put him in, but he can only do so with a special key — a Codex. When a symbiote brings its host back to life, a Codex is formed. If Spider-Man died and the symbiote resurrected him, Knull would know.

Posts Knull tried to get Venom"s Codex, but since the symbiote died at the end of Venom: The Last Dance, the villain remained trapped in his prison. However, Knull is seemingly not meant to remain imprisoned for much longer. Venom: The Last Dance"s mid-credits scene brought Knull back after Venom died. While he was still trapped, Knull promised that he would be free and, without Venom to protect the universe, the King in Black would bring destruction to all. If Avengers: Doomsday does end with Doctor Doom killing Spider-Man and the symbiote resurrecting him, then Knull could appear in Spider-Man 4.
MCU Theory: Eddie Brock And Knull Are Drawn To The MCU’s Spider-Man 4 Venom And Spider-Man Still Have To Meet Close Despite Spider-Man: No Way Home"s ending teasing a street-level follow-up, all signs point to another multiversal story for the MCU"s Spider-Man 4. A new Marvel theory suggests both Knull and Eddie Brock could catch wind of Peter Parker"s possible death and resurrection in Avengers: Doomsday and become part of Spider-Man 4 for two completely different purposes. Knull could be after the Codex and somehow be freed to become a physical threat to Spider-Man and Venom instead of just a shadowy figure. As for Eddie, he could connect with the piece of the symbiote in the MCU, leading to Venom"s return.

There are a few factors that strengthen the theory. First is the fact that Knull"s future has been teased by Venom: The Last Dance"s director. Kelly Marcel said the film was "just the introduction to Knull." Fans have long wanted to see Hardy"s Venom and Holland"s Spider-Man meet, and Tom Hardy recently said he would like to fight Spider-Man in a movie. Finally, a Sony Japan press release (via The Direct) teased the possibility of the two Marvel characters coming together, as the Spider-Man 4 press release directly mentioned Tom Hardy. Check out the Sony Japan press release below:
"Tom Holland, who plays Peter, has already given his stamp of approval to the story! "This will be a real movie that fans can respect!" Is Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie in the "Venom" series, ready to take part?"
Why It Makes Sense For Spider-Man 4 To Be A Multiverse Story The MCU's Street-Level Spider-Man Stories Can Wait Close Spider-Man: No Way Home has become the most successful Spider-Man movie of all time. As such, it would make sense to continue on the path that led to the film becoming so beloved. Fans want to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield"s Spider-Men return, which can likely only happen while the MCU"s Multiverse Saga is still going. As Tom Holland"s Spider-Man 4 is the only solo movie for the hero that can fit that key requirement, a street-level Spider-Man story could wait for another major multiverse event to happen while it still can.

Posts Based on how Spider-Man 4 is the only MCU movie confirmed to release between the next two Avengers movies, it should feature connective tissue with Avengers: Doomsday. The Multiverse Saga also offers one final chance for Tom Hardy"s Venom to finally meet Tom Holland"s Spider-Man, and Venom: The Last Dance set up the perfect villain for that team-up in the form of Knull. As such, there have been many elements set up to make Spider-Man 4 one of the biggest multiverse events in the MCU, possibly rivaling the scope of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Spider-Man Homecoming 4 Spider-Man: Homecoming 4 is the first sequel to the MCU's Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland as the titular wall-crawler. After wiping his identity for the public's memory in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker continues his crime-fighting adventures without the aid of Iron Man technology or the support of his former allies.
