Everything We Know About DC"s Paradise Lost TV Series
The DC Universe"s first chapter, "Gods and Monsters," includes a litany of TV shows and movies that will reintroduce DC"s most iconic heroes in a rebooted cinematic franchise, with
Paradise Lost delving into Wonder Woman"s homeland. Wonder Woman is one of three "diamond characters" alongside Superman and Batman, who DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has stated will help spotlight lesser-known heroes in the DCU"s release slate. With Superman launching the DCU"s cinematic efforts in July 2025 and The Brave and the Bold slated to debut the DCU"s Batman later, Paradise Lost will sow the seeds of Wonder Woman"s DCU debut.
Wonder Woman was one of DC Studios" most valuable characters in the DCEU after her self-titled debut garnered critical acclaim and became the DCEU"s third-highest-grossing movie. Despite this precedent, however, the DCU may be holding off introducing Diana Prince until after Paradise Lost lays the groundwork for her history. As news steadily emerges about the show, here is everything we know so far about how this Wonder Woman prequel series will take shape.
DC's Paradise Lost Latest News Development Is Progressing But Paradise Lost Has Not Been Greenlit Close While Paradise Lost is ostensibly a core part of the "Gods and Monsters" release slate,
the show has yet to be officially greenlit. James Gunn hinted at the progress of Paradise Lost in a recent interaction with fans via social media, suggesting that the show is still in its drafting phase with no DCU show or movie being considered "in production" until it has been greenlit. This suggests that Paradise Lost could still be scrapped if DC Studios cannot settle on a suitable script, which the studio has stated will be standard practice.
With that being said, James Gunn has also recently clarified that Paradise Lost is in "very active development," which is a promising sign.
With that being said, James Gunn has also recently clarified that Paradise Lost is in "very active development," which is a promising sign. Given Wonder Woman"s importance to DC, it remains likely that DC Studios will want to push forward with even a Wonder Woman-adjacent series. The amount of time it has taken to confirm the show, meanwhile, is a testament to the studio"s commitment to ensuring its productions are of top quality.

This announcement came in a video posted to X by James Gunn where he confirmed the first 10 projects of the DCU, some of which are in production or ready to release. DC's Paradise Lost Production Status Paradise Lost Is Not Yet In Production But Might Be Soon Close So far,
James Gunn has yet to confirm that Paradise Lost is in production. Until this gets underway, details such as casting decisions and release dates will remain up in the air as the project is ostensibly still at risk of being scrapped entirely. This seems unlikely, however, based on Gunn"s previous comments that the show is in "very active development."
Of the 10 announced DCU projects in 2023, 5 have been confirmed so far, including Creature Commandos, Superman, Peacemaker season 2, Lanterns, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
This suggests that a Paradise Lost script may soon be settled upon, whereupon DC Studios will greenlight the series and further updates will start to emerge. Regarding this,
Gunn recently confirmed that the next slate of greenlit DCU projects will be announced within the next two months or so. It stands to reason that Paradise Lost will be among these given the recent positive updates regarding its development status.
DC's Paradise Lost Story Details Paradise Lost Will Resemble Game Of Thrones Close Paradise Lost will be
a prequel series that delves into Wonder Woman"s homeland, Themyscira, also known as Paradise Island. This mythical nation is home to the Amazons, a society rooted in Greek mythology and inexorably tied to its pantheon of gods. While this is the birthplace of Diana Prince, the show may omit her entirely as it appears poised to delve into Themysicira"s origins during a time long before Wonder Woman becomes the nation"s champion - though it is of course possible that she may cameo as a youngster.
