The MCU Has Been Showing You The Answer To What Happened To Nicolas Scratch Since 2021 According To Agatha All Along Theory

Nicholas Scratch"s history was explored in Agatha All Along, but one hidden detail suggests Marvel Studios already explained exactly what happened to him back in Phase 4"s WandaVision. Kathryn Hahn"s return as Agatha Harkness in Agatha All Along revealed more about the original Salem witch, including her long-running romance and rivalry with Aubrey Plaza"s Death, her Witches" Road scheme and the existence of her son, Nicholas Scratch. While Agatha All Along"s finale explained what happened to Nicholas Scratch, there"s one mystery the MCU hasn"t addressed.
Agatha Harkness was not the only WandaVision character to return in Agatha All Along, as Agatha"s new witch coven formed in Westview, New Jersey, allowing Debra Jo Rupp"s Sharon Davis, David Payton"s John Collins and Emma Caulfield"s Sarah Proctor to also come back. Alongside them, Amos Glick also reprised his role from WandaVision, where he was known as Dennis Webber in the Scarlet Witch"s Hex, while his real name was never revealed. According to a new theory, Glick"s brief appearance in Agatha All Along"s premiere marked the return of one of the MCU"s most important characters.
Dennis Webber’s Rabbit-Inscribed Hat Hints At A Bigger Role For WandaVision’s “Messenger” Amos Glick Plays Dennis Webber In WandaVision & Agatha All Along As a pizza delivery man, Amos Glick"s WandaVision character was rewritten by the Scarlet Witch to be a postman, though he describes himself as a "messenger." In WandaVision"s finale, Dennis Webber approaches the Scarlet Witch prior to her battle against Agatha Harkness, and he can be seen sporting a baseball cap with a rabbit embossed on the front. After Agatha All Along, this is now known to clearly be a reference to Nicholas Scratch, who was often depicted alongside rabbit sculptures or even in reference to Agatha"s own pet rabbit, Señor Scratchy.

Amos Glick returned in Agatha All Along"s true-crime fantasy world designed by Agatha Harkness in the series" premiere, and he lived up to his role as WandaVision"s messenger. It was Glick"s character who informed Agatha Harkness that every copy of the Darkhold had been destroyed by the Scarlet Witch, and there is one clear reason that he would have this knowledge. The fact that Dennis Webber sported a rabbit-inscribed cap in WandaVision, and knows of the Darkhold"s destruction, has spurred a theory that he may actually be a resurrected Nicholas Scratch.
Dennis Webber Is A Mephisto-Controlled Nicholas Scratch: MCU Theory Explained Agatha All Along Hinted That Nicholas Scratch Could Be An Agent Of Mephisto Close A new MCU theory posed by Reddit user Flirtleby suggests that Marvel Studios may be trying to "mephistease" viewers again with the inclusion of Amos Glick"s Dennis Webber as the messenger in WandaVision and Agatha All Along. The theory suggests that Glick"s character may be a vessel for, or resurrected version of, Nicholas Scratch, who may in turn have become an agent of the rumored demonic villain Mephisto following his demise in the 1750s. His rabbit-embossed cap certainly suggests a connection between the messenger and Nicholas Scratch, and he may have been keeping tabs on his mother.
Agatha All Along episode 3, "Through Many Miles/Of Tricks and Trials," saw Sasheer Zamata"s Jennifer Kale imply to Joe Locke"s Billy Maximoff that Agatha sacrificed her son for the Darkhold. However, she also addresses rumors stating that Nicholas Scratch may have become an agent of Mephisto, marking the first time the iconic villain"s name has been used in the MCU. It"s possible that Nicholas Scratch fell into Mephisto"s employ after being taken by Death, which may give him knowledge of the Darkhold and dark magic, and could have forged him into a powerful new villain.
How Nicholas Scratch’s Return Could Impact The MCU Nicholas Scratch Returning Could Debut A New Powerful Villain Marvel Studios" depiction of Nicholas Scratch, portrayed in Agatha All Along episode 9, "Maiden Mother Crone," by Abel Lysenko, is very different from his Marvel Comics counterpart. In the comics, Nicholas Scratch is an adult villain and an antagonist to his mother, so his possible return to the MCU in the form of Amos Glick"s messenger could be the perfect way to bring more of his Marvel Comics storylines to life. A resurrected Nicholas Scratch could establish the magical community of New Salem, build connections to the Salem Seven and hunt down his mother for betraying his memory.
In the MCU, Death offered Agatha Harkness time with her son, who was initially supposed to be stillborn. It seems Death returned to claim Nicholas Scratch when he was six years old in 1756, while Agatha Harkness used the song she wrote with her son, "The Ballad of the Witches" Road," to lure hundreds of witches to their deaths.
Agatha Harkness ended Agatha All Along in a new form, becoming a ghost after sacrificing herself to Death to save Billy Maximoff. If this Nicholas Scratch theory turns out to be true, Agatha"s revival as a ghost will surely get his attention, meaning he may set out to follow Billy and Agatha on their hunt for the former"s recently-resurrected brother, Tommy Maximoff. This could introduce a formidable new magical supervillain, following on from the narrative of Agatha All Along perfectly while brilliantly expanding the magical corners of the MCU.
