10 Deadpool Variants We Want To See The Most In Deadpool & Wolverine

Summary
  • Many Deadpool variants might appear in the MCU's Deadpool & Wolverine, as the project will explore the multiverse.
  • Set photos from Deadpool & Wolverine have already confirmed the involvement of a samurai version of Deadpool, who could be based on Marvel Comics' Deadpool Pulp.
  • Other brilliant Deadpool variants who could appear include Kidpool, Venompool, Lady Deadpool, Death Mask and Wolverinepool, a mash-up of Deadpool and Wolverine.
Many different variants of Wade Wilson's Deadpool could debut in the MCU during Phase 5's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige and Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds confirmed the Merc-with-a-Mouth would be making the permanent move to the MCU following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox in 2019. Since then, Marvel Studios' upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine has become one of the most highly-anticipated projects in the MCU in recent years, not least due to the fact that it will mark the first time the current versions of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine have interacted on screen.
While Reynolds and Jackman are expected to be portraying the same versions of their respective characters that debuted in Fox's X-Men franchise, Deadpool & Wolverine's Multiverse Saga setting creates the opportunity for many more variants to appear. There has been speculation that some of these variants have already been seen in the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine, including a different version of Deadpool and the Patch iteration of Wolverine, but Marvel Studios has stayed relatively mum on whether any more will appear. Luckily, there are many Deadpool variants from Marvel Comics that would fit perfectly in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Related 12 Marvel Cameos Rumored To Appear In Deadpool 3 2024's Deadpool 3 is expected to explore the multiverse more than any prior MCU project, which has led to rumors of several Marvel cameo appearances. 10 Lady Deadpool Is Rumored To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine Lady Deadpool Is A Female Version Of Wade Wilson Close Wanda Wilson, a.k.a. Lady Deadpool, is a female variant of Wade Wilson from Earth-3010. First introduced in 2010's Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #7, Wanda Wilson initially joins a group of rebels fighting loyalists in the United States, and battles General America, but later teams up with the multiversal Deadpool Corps. Lady Deadpool has been heavily-rumored to be appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, with recent speculation suggesting Ryan Reynolds' own wife, Blake Lively, could be playing the role. Since Deadpool & Wolverine is set to explore the MCU's multiverse, Lady Deadpool would be a fantastic addition to the upcoming project.
Related Did The Deadpool 3 Trailer Secretly Reveal A Deadpool Variant NOT Played By Ryan Reynolds!? Ryan Reynolds is back as Wade Wilson in Deadpool & Wolverine, but he might not be the only actor playing a variant of him in the movie's new trailer. 9 Samurai Deadpool Has Already Been Confirmed Samurai Deadpool Has Been Seen In Deadpool & Wolverine Set Photos Set photos from Deadpool & Wolverine's production have already confirmed that Ryan Reynolds will be portraying a variant of Deadpool who has taken the appearance of a samurai. This version could be inspired by Marvel Comics' Deadpool Pulp, a version of Wade Wilson who was tortured in a Japanese prisoner of war camp during World War II, and ended up adopting samurai swords as his weapons upon escaping. Deadpool & Wolverine's samurai Deadpool has no scarring, unlike his better-known counterpart, and has a sleeker, armored costume and a man bun, but it's unclear what role he'll have in the movie.
8 Deadpool 2099 Could Reference Sony’s Spider-Verse Deadpool 2099 Is From The Same Universe As Spider-Man 2099 After Sony's animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and its sequel, Across the Spider-Verse, introduced audiences to Oscar Isaac's Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, it's possible that Deadpool & Wolverine could include a live-action version of 2099's Deadpool. Warda Wilson debuted in Marvel Comics in 2016's Deadpool (Vol. 6) #6 as the daughter of Wade Wilson and Shiklah, the Queen of the Underworld. Warda Wilson's introduction in Deadpool & Wolverine could see her on the hunt for her mysteriously-missing mother, and could potentially build a connection to Sony's Spider-Verse franchise, after Miguel O'Hara referenced the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Miguel O'Hara berated "Doctor Strange and the little nerd from Earth-199999" in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, though the MCU's designation as Earth-616 has confused this comment.
7 Death Mask Was Inspired By Another Iconic Marvel Comics Villain Death Mask Could Tease The MCU's Doctor Doom Introduced in 2011's Amazing Spider-Man Annual #38, Earth-11638's version of Wade Wilson became a superintelligent genius following a revolutionary procedure by Reed Richards, which removed a lethal brain tumor from Wilson's body. Wilson used his new intelligence to establish a criminal empire, dressing himself in armor inspired by Doctor Doom, and dubbing himself Death Mask. Victor Von Doom, one of the Fantastic Four's most iconic adversaries in Marvel Comics, has been rumored to be debuting in the MCU very soon, so Death Mask's appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine could tease Doctor Doom already existing in the multiverse of the MCU.
6 Dreadpool Would Be A Great Villain In Deadpool & Wolverine Dreadpool Wanted To Kill All Of His Multiversal Variants Dreadpool was the twisted iteration of Wade Wilson whose insanity was unlocked by Psycho-Man, leading to him embarking on a killing spree throughout the Marvel Universe. Dreadpool killed the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the Avengers, Thor, the Hulk, the X-Men and various cosmic beings, including Galactus, before setting his sights on the writers of 2012's Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe. Following this spree, Dreadpool set out to kill every multiversal variant of himself, which provides the perfect opportunity for him to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, as he may be chasing Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and others, though he'll likely be unsuccessful.
5 Ultimate Deadpool Is A Mutant Hunter In Marvel Comics Ultimate Marvel's Deadpool Is A Grotesque Villain In Marvel Comics Close One brilliant evil Deadpool variant that could be introduced in Deadpool & Wolverine is Ultimate Marvel's version of the Merc-with-a-Mouth. Earth-1610's Wadey Wilson debuted in Marvel Comics in 2006's Ultimate Spider-Man #91 as a disfigured former sergeant who fought during the Wakanda Wars in the 1990s before becoming an anti-mutant supremacist hunting mutants for the Genoshan government. Many mutant characters from 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise are expected to cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, so this would be a great chance to showcase the evil, human version of Deadpool, perhaps as part of Dreadpool's twisted multiversal team, Evil Deadpool Corps.
In Marvel Comics' Secret Wars event in 2015, the final incursion that destroys the multiverse takes place between the main continuity of Earth-616 and the Ultimate Universe of Earth-1610, so Ultimate Deadpool's appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine could tease this storyline.
4 Venompool Could Solve 1 Spider-Man: No Way Home Mystery Spider-Man: No Way Home Teased The MCU's Venom Symbiote Venompool is an iteration of Deadpool from Earth-90211 who became the host of the Venom symbiote, first seen in 2011's Venom/Deadpool: What If? #1. Venompool comes from the reality that the otherworldly Beyonder uses as a place to party, with Venompool becoming one of the villain's most trusted friends, though Venompool is later seen to be a member of the Deadpool Corps. Following Spider-Man: No Way Home's tease of a piece of Sony's Venom symbiote being left in the MCU, it's possible that Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson could bond with the creature and transform into Venompool in Deadpool & Wolverine.
3 Galactipool Could Tease A Rumored Fantastic Four Villain Galactus Has Been Rumored To Debut In The Fantastic Four This mash-up of Deadpool and the planet-eater Galactus was only seen briefly in Marvel Comics before being killed by Lady Deadpool in an effort to take down the Evil Deadpool Corps. Despite his brief appearance in Marvel Comics, Galactipool could have a role in Deadpool & Wolverine, particularly with Galactus being rumored for The Fantastic Four. The concept of massive cosmic beings, such as the Celestials, has been developed over years, and 2021's Eternals provided the clearest look at their scale, so Galactipool could add another rung on this ladder, and tease Galactus' potential debut in the MCU's Phase 6.
Related Javier Bardem Reportedly Marvel's Top Pick To Play Massive Villain In MCU Fantastic Four Movie Casting rumors have been swirling around Marvel's upcoming Fantastic Four movie, and Javier Bardem is reportedly the top pick for a huge villain. 2 Kidpool’s Debut Would Mirror The Void’s Loki Variants Loki Season 1 Introduced Kid Loki To The MCU Earth-10330's Wade Wilson was dubbed Kidpool as he was a young child when brought to Xavier's Orphanage for Troubled Boys. After causing destruction at the Orphanage, Kidpool was hired for the multiversal Deadpool Corps by Earth-616's Deadpool. Previous speculation suggested that Ryan Reynolds' The Adam Project co-star, Walker Scobell, could have played Kidpool in Deadpool & Wolverine, but he denied these rumors during a December 2023 interview (via YouTube). After Jack Veal appeared as Kid Loki in Loki season 1, it's possible more child variants could appear in the MCU, particularly since Deadpool & Wolverine will be exploring Loki's Void.
Not that I know of, but I learned a lot of valuable lessons from them that I used while filming Percy Jackson. And, um, yeah, I'm not sure—I'm hoping to reunite someday, but I don't know.
Related 10 Actors We'd Love To See Play Deadpool & Wolverine Variants In Deadpool 3 Deadpool & Wolverine's first trailer teased that variants for both heroes will appear, and some stars would be perfect for cameos in the MCU film. 1 Wolverinepool Would Be A Fantastic Addition To Deadpool & Wolverine Wolverinepool Was Part Of Marvel Comics' Weapon X Program Close Introduced to Marvel Comics in 2007's Cable & Deadpool #46, Wolverinepool was a version of Wade Wilson whose skeleton was laced with adamantium as part of the Weapon X program. In Marvel Comics' main continuity, this fate befell James "Logan" Howlett's Wolverine. It would be fantastic to see a mash-up of Deadpool and Wolverine appear in the MCU's eponymous Deadpool & Wolverine, as this would lead to some fantastic jokes from Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. There are dozens more Deadpool variants that could appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, but only time will tell which ones actually hit theaters in July 2024.
