10 Ways Agatha All Along Totally Changes The Way You Watch WandaVision
Agatha All Along fundamentally changes events from WandaVision by revealing surprising twists about Agatha Harkness and the larger MCU. The Disney+ series WandaVision offered a wild ride through sitcom-inspired episodes and a story centered around Wanda Maximoff’s struggle to deal with grief. As the show unfolds, Wanda discovers her perfect life in Westview is being manipulated by another powerful witch, Agatha Harkness. While WandaVision initially presented Agatha as the main antagonist, Agatha All Along flips the script and delves deeper into her story, offering new perspectives that reshape how we see Wanda’s journey and the Westview Incident.
The MCU timeline highlights significant moments that reshape its characters, and WandaVision marks a turning point in Wanda’s life as she copes with the devastating loss of Vision and her two sons, Billy and Tommy. While WandaVision showed a complex narrative of grief, love, and control, Agatha All Along recontextualizes this by revealing hidden motives and adding layers to Agatha’s character, showing her as someone with her own emotional struggles. These revelations provide deeper layers to Wanda’s experience and shift the perception of Agatha, introducing crucial elements for the future of the MCU.
10 Agatha All Along Confirmed That Wanda's Children Died And Were Reborn Wiccan Is The Reincarnation Of Billy Maximoff Close In WandaVision, Wanda’s two children, Billy and Tommy, were created through her Hex magic in Westview. However,
the tragic end of the series saw the boys cease to exist as Wanda brought down her Hex. This sets up her hunt for them across the multiverse in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. Agatha All Along confirmed that the boys’ spirits survived, at least in some form.
Related 10 Scariest Scenes From Agatha All Along Agatha All Along was a perfect foray into the horror genre, pushing the MCU’s typical tone to its limits in a series of horrifying scenes.
Billy’s spirit, in particular, is revealed in Agatha All Along to have transferred to another body, manifesting as William Kaplan, a character familiar to many as Wiccan in the comics. Tommy’s whereabouts, however, r
emain a mystery and will seemingly be investigated by Wiccan and Agatha following the Agatha All Along season finale. This twist suggests that while Wanda’s children were products of her grief, their existence may have roots that transcend her powers.
9 Agatha All Along Confirmed How The World Viewed the Westview Incident The Westview Incident Has Been Swept Under The Rug Close One of the fascinating details in Agatha All Along is the perspective it provides on the Westview Incident itself. Those nearby could see the giant scarlet construct over the city. However, the rest of the world were told that what happened in Westview was an Avengers training exercise gone wrong, effectively
shifting public perception. The residents of Westview suffered greatly, but to the world, it’s another example of Avengers-related chaos.
This bad press for the Avengers follows on from the divisive events of Captain America: Civil War and might help explain why the team has been notably absent since Avengers: Endgame. The public’s dwindling trust could also be a motivator behind the team not gaining governmental backing. It could also
explain why the U.S. government’s decision to form the Thunderbolts - a new team that can operate with more oversight and control.
8 Agatha Became More Sympathetic In Agatha All Along Agatha Harkness Was The Villain In WandaVision Close In WandaVision, Agatha Harkness was a captivating, albeit clearly villainous character. She was
charming, cunning, and undeniably fun to watch. However, her manipulation of Wanda and her ruthless behavior painted her as an obvious antagonist - unlike in the comics. Agatha All Along complicates this image, making her a more sympathetic figure. While she’s still driven by ambition and a hunger for power, her backstory and complex emotions offer more depth.
Agatha’s motivations are revealed to also be rooted in grief and survival, creating parallels with Wanda in WandaVision that blurs the line of villainy. The intermittent care she shows for Wiccan reveals a caring and maternal side, particularly when she sacrifices herself for him. Of course,
Katherine Hahn’s magnetic performance further adds to this, turning her from a simple villain into a character that audiences may relate to or even root for.
7 Agatha Redeems Her Threatening Billy & Tommy Agatha Shows A Lot Of Care To Tommy On The Road Close Agatha threatens Wanda’s children as part of her plan to force Wanda into revealing her powers during their climactic final battle in WandaVision. This terrifying moment where she snatches Billy and Tommy
truly demonstrates her ruthlessness and villainy. However, in Agatha All Along, we see a different side of her in how she interacts with Billy.
Related Where Will Agatha Harkness Appear Next In The MCU? Every Possibility Explained After the dramatic conclusion to Agatha All Along, there are several possible avenues for Agatha Harkness to return to the MCU in the future.
1 Throughout their journey on the Witches’ Road, Agatha repeatedly goes out of her way to protect him from danger, shielding him from involvement in the magical trials and even advising him to keep his distance when necessary. This
protective attitude indicates a newfound respect for Wanda’s children, adding a level of redemption to Agatha’s character. Her actions in Agatha All Along suggest that she may have softened, or at least is redeeming her previous actions against the Maximoff brothers by caring for them subsequently, even teaming up with Wiccan to find Tommy.
6 Agatha All Along Provides Context to Agatha Trying to Steal Wanda's Powers Agatha All Along Depicts Agatha’s History With Draining Witches Close Agatha’s motivations for trying to drain Wanda’s powers in WandaVision are presented fairly simplistically: she’s evil and loves power. While it was obvious that
Scarlet Witch had an enviable level of power compared to other witches, Agatha’s rationale seemed two-dimensional. This changed in Agatha All Along, which provides a much clearer context by exploring Agatha’s history.
Agatha has spent centuries collecting magic by draining other witches’ powers, seeing it as a way to enhance her own abilities and survive in a hostile world. Her pursuit of Wanda’s powers, then, becomes less of a power grab and more a continuation of her long-standing strategy for survival. This
context enriches her character and makes her actions in WandaVision more understandable, if still morally reprehensible. Moreover, it is suggested in Agatha All Along that Agatha has left so many bodies in her wake that she was keeping Lady Death too busy to claim Agatha herself.
5 Wiccan Conjuring The Road Parallels Wanda’s Westview Hex Wiccan Created The Witches’ Road In Agatha All Along Close Agatha All Along’s most thrilling reveal was that the Witches’ Road never truly existed and was inadvertently created by Wiccan. This moment was crucial in understanding the show, but also established the extent of Wiccan’s powers. It suggests that
reality-altering abilities might not be unique to Wanda; rather, they could be part of Billy’s potential as well.
If Wiccan can create physical constructs or alter reality at will, it calls into question whether the Westview Hex was as extraordinary as it appeared. It is either a testament to Wiccan’s impressive powers or exposes Wanda’s as less than previously thought. More likely, however, this revelation implies that it is the
Maximoff family who hold a unique and mighty magical potential. Regardless, it reframes Wanda’s actions in WandaVision as not solely a feat unique to her, creating one of the show’s more intriguing parallels.
4 Agatha All Along Ignored Vision’s Role as Wiccan’s Father Vision Is Only References On One Occasion In Agatha All Along Close Vision, who was central to Wanda’s life and the creation of her family in WandaVision, is surprisingly absent from Agatha All Along. Vision is Billy and Tommy’s father – which itself raises questions considering he’s an android. Regardless,
Vision is only mentioned once in Agatha All Along when Wiccan reveals his identity to Agatha. Though she never appears in person, Wanda’s presence is felt throughout Agatha All Along. Wanda’s connection to MCU magic and Agatha’s history with it naturally take center stage.
However, Vision’s exclusion feels noticeable, especially considering his role as the children’s father. Vision’s absence raises questions about the strength of the magical connection versus the familial one and
may hint at future storylines exploring the complex family dynamics within the Maximoff lineage. While this could be addressed in the MCU’s Vision Quest, it feels very conspicuous following his vital role in WandaVision.
3 Teen’s Sigil Complicates The WandaVision Post-Credits Scene Wanda Heard Her Sons Calling Out For Her In WandaVision Close A fascinating element introduced in Agatha All Along is the existence of a sigil which kept Billy Maximoff’s identity a secret. This r
aises some questions about the WandaVision post-credits scene, in which Wanda hears Billy calling out to her. If Billy’s sigil had been masking his presence from Wanda, how was she able to hear him? Or is she potentially hearing a version of him from another dimension in the Multiverse?
Related 10 Most Impressive Displays Of Power In Agatha All Along Agatha All Along features some of Marvel’s most powerful characters and includes some of the most impressive displays of power in the franchise.
If Wanda was hearing a Multiversal variant, then what happened to Tommy? Could he also be hidden by a sigil? The Agatha All Along finale
suggests that Tommy’s spirit hasn’t yet transferred into a new body, which would suggest that Wanda is indeed hearing her sons from across the Multiverse. But if that’s the case, then where has Tommy’s spirit been in the interim? Much of this will likely be explored in the future, but one thing is for certain, the WandaVision post-credits scene has become more complicated.
2 Agatha All Along’s Title Confirms Her Role in WandaVision It Was Agatha All Along Close The title of Agatha All Along itself serves as a literal nod to her role in WandaVision: it was Agatha all along. As depicted in WandaVision, it was Agatha who
manipulated Wanda’s grief to try and steal her powers, orchestrating much of the chaos in Westview. Her title reflects her overarching manipulation in WandaVision, making her more central to the series than it may have first seemed.
Knowing Agatha’s full role from the start reveals just how much she orchestrated and
clarifies her motivations in trying to take Wanda’s power. This carries over into Agatha All Along itself, in which the Witches’ Road is revealed to have been a con that Agatha maintained for centuries to steal other witches’ powers. In both cases, it was simply Agatha all along, pulling strings to manipulate those around her.
1 Wanda’s Reputation in Westview Orients Her as More of a Villain Wanda Is Considered A Villain In Westview In Agatha All Along Close In Agatha All Along, it’s revealed that Wanda’s reputation in Westview is far from heroic. Residents of Westview avoid saying her name, and anti-Wanda graffiti lines the town. This atmosphere
reframes Wanda not as the tragic heroine seen in WandaVision but as a figure closer to the villainous portrayal she takes on in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Agatha All Along depicts the fallout of Wanda’s actions, depicting her more as a villain and showing how her actions in Westview had lasting, damaging impacts on the people who lived there. Interestingly, A
gatha’s role in the Westview Incident is largely overlooked, only referenced by Ralph Bohner. This reverses their roles from WandaVision, which initially presented Wanda as a grieving and overwhelmed hero manipulated into hurting others.
Agatha All Along counters this, making Wanda firmly the villain of the piece.
