Giving him a difficult backstory allowed the character to have greater texture, and seeing his volatility was genuinely terrifying. I think the Bullseye performance was so strong that it actually makes it hard to imagine Bethel as Captain America. Casting the actor in this iconic villain role was likely the right choice, although I can"t help but wonder what he would have been like as Steve Rogers.

Posts Wilson Bethel is perfect in the role of Bullseye, although examining potential castings like this is a lot of fun. Marvel is willing to make winks and nods to their own history in their films, as was clearly shown by Chris Evans" cameo as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine. Whatever they do next with Bullseye, I am excited to see more of Wilson Bethel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and would be curious to see any way that he might fit into the story of Avengers: Secret Wars.
