The Penguin Episode 4 Is Its Highest Rated For Good Reason Sofia Falcone's Backstory Is Tragic Close The Penguin episode 4 serves as Sofia Falcone"s villain origin story. Her complicated history unfolds via flashback. With the help of a journalist, young Sofia discovers her father, Carmine Falcone, is actually a serial killer who targets women, and he is responsible for her mother"s death. Unfortunately, her driver, Oz Cobb, rats her out to Carmine. The elder Falcone takes out the journalist and frames Sofia for his murders. She is declared mentally unfit to stand trial and is sent to Arhkam, where she suffers inhumane treatment by both staff and fellow inmates for 10 years.
Her next target is undoubtedly Oz, as he is the one responsible for her incarceration, her brother"s murderer, and now her number one obstacle in taking control of the Falcone empire.
Even more tragic, her brother Alberto was the only family member who stood by her, but he was killed by Oz earlier in the series. The latter half of the episode sees Sofia taking revenge on her family. Sofia only spares her young cousin Gia and Johnny Viti, an underboss she will likely need for strategic reasons. She gases the rest of the family, wiping them out. Her next target is undoubtedly Oz, as he is the one responsible for her incarceration, her brother"s murderer, and now her number one obstacle in taking control of the Falcone empire.
