How Agatha All Along Connects To The Rest Of The MCU

Agatha All Along is now the latest Marvel release on Disney Plus that connects directly with the rest of the MCU. The MCU"s output has been bolstered significantly within the Multiverse Saga, as WandaVision kicked off a new era in which shows now contribute to the wider MCU alongside its mainline movies. WandaVision, for example, became necessary viewing to understand the intricacies of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, while Ms. Marvel directly set up the events of The Marvels.
Agatha All Along follows suit by connecting to some of the Multiverse Saga"s most significant events and could establish even more for upcoming MCU installments. So far, the series has established the Witches" Road, another plane open only to practitioners of magic, as MCU canon. It has also introduced a host of new characters that may have bigger roles down the line in the MCU"s mainline movies. Whatever happens, here"s how Agatha All Along connects to previous MCU productions and how it could connect to its future.
Agatha All Along Is A Direct Sequel To WandaVision Agatha All Along Takes Place Three Years Later Close Agatha All Along is the second installment in a trilogy of shows centered around the stars of WandaVision. It picks up three years after Wanda left Westview at the end of WandaVision and lifted her hex from most of its residents, with Agatha being the notable exception. Wanda herself appears to feature in Agatha All Along as a corpse whose face is obscured but whose Darkhold-stained fingers, distinctive red hair, and cause of death (crushed by something big) all allude heavily to her true identity.
While it is still connected to previous shows, Agatha All Along is the first to be released under Marvel"s new Marvel Television banner.
After making a splash as the arch-villain of WandaVision, Agatha is now the antihero star of her own show as she embarks on a quest to reacquire the powers that Wanda drained her of. Although she is now free of Wanda"s influence, the show has already delved into Agatha"s relationship with Wanda, mentioning her by name and establishing Agatha"s deep-seated resentment. Another side of this relationship will no doubt be explored in Vision"s confirmed solo series, which appears set to round out the WandaVision story.
Agatha All Along Also Connects To Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Wanda's Death In Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Is Addressed Close It has been three years since Wanda left Agatha in her purgatorial hex, and the Scarlet Witch has since been up to some monumental activities. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Scarlet Witch traverse the multiverse with the help of the Darkhold that she took from Agatha, killing any that stood in her way and threatening to cause incursions between entire universes. Upon recognizing the error of her ways, Wanda would use her immense powers to destroy the Darkhold in every reality before collapsing the Darkhold Castle upon herself.
The mystery surrounding whether Wanda really died at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is seemingly put to bed by the show, as "Herb," in the guise of a forensics officer, states "Oh she"s really, most sincerely dead."
Agatha All Along references both Wanda"s death and the destruction of the Darkhold in the first two episodes. The mystery surrounding whether Wanda really died at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is potentially put to bed by the show, as "Herb," in the guise of a forensics officer, states "Oh she"s really, most sincerely dead." This contradicts theories that Wanda might show up alive and well in the Witches" Road, though the permanence of death in Marvel productions is far from a foregone conclusion, especially since this scene is part of Agatha"s warped hex reality.
What Other Marvel Movies And Shows Could Connect To Agatha All Along Agatha All Along May Be Introducing Another Young Avenger Close One of the most significant things that Agatha All Along might establish in the MCU is the true identity of Joe Locke"s "Teen." The secrecy surrounding Teen"s identity suggests that the reveal will be significant, with the prevailing theory being that he is portraying Billy Maximoff/Kaplan, AKA Wiccan. If true, Agatha All Along may be establishing a core member of the Young Avengers, which Kamala Khan began assembling in the post-credits scene of The Marvels, and who will presumably make their big screen debut in the coming years.
Tommy Maximoff/Shepherd - AKA Speed - is also a member of the Young Avengers in Marvel Comics, but has yet to appear after WandaVision.
Another theory suggests that Teen is portraying Nicholas Scratch, Agatha"s son whose presence (or lack thereof) has already been touched on as Agnes of Westview gazes mournfully into his unoccupied bedroom. Scratch is a primary villain to The Fantastic Four, who are due to make their MCU debut in 2025"s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which would make his debut in Agatha All Along particularly well-timed. Agatha herself also has a history with The Fantastic Four as she at one point nannied Franklin Richards.
Furthermore, the MCU has been steadily expanding its mystical offerings, something that arguably began with Wanda and Doctor Strange, and to which Agatha All Along is now a prime contributor. Shows like Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night have delved just as deep into the magical side of Marvel, while Ms. Marvel and Eternals have scratched the surface with their introduction of the Clan Destines and Dane Whitman, respectively. These figures, along with the upcoming Blade, may all coalesce down the line, potentially as part of a Midnight Sons adaptation.
