Namor"s History Makes The Eternals Even Worse

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced Namor (Tenoch Huerta) and his kingdom of Talokan, but his and Talokan’s history has made the Eternals even worse. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps expanding, more characters are being introduced and more stories are being told, but as this is a connected universe, some of these new characters and stories have made way for plot holes and inconsistencies that, ultimately, hurt already introduced characters.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever saw the kingdom of Wakanda mourning the death of King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) while they also defended their kingdom from Namor and his army, as they believed the Wakandans were responsible for the CIA almost finding their underwater kingdom of Talokan. Black Panther 2 took the audience to Talokan to learn more about this civilization’s history as well as Namor’s backstory, and while these are quite interesting and have a lot of potential, they have made the Eternals and their role in the MCU even worse than it already was.
Why Didn't The Eternals Know About Namor's Talokan? The Eternals are a group of synthetic beings created by the Celestial Arishem the Judge with the purpose of preparing planets for the birth of new Celestials, which is why they were sent to Earth centuries ago. The Eternals stayed on Earth after getting rid of the Deviants, and they were key in helping various ancient civilizations evolve – and it’s because of this that it seems very strange that they wouldn’t know about Talokan. Namor’s kingdom was created after a meteor containing vibranium crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, and after the Yucatán-Mayan tribe started dying due to smallpox, the tribesmen were guided by a Mayan deity towards the vibranium plant in the ocean. After ingesting it, they woke up with blue skin and gills, so they went into the sea to breathe and began the construction of their underwater nation.
At one point, a small group of Talokanil returned to the surface and saw a plantation run by a slave master, and after setting fire to the property and killing the colonizers, they began to resent those on the surface and decided to keep Talokan’s existence hidden from the rest of humanity. Now, the Eternals were surely already on Earth when Talokan was built, and as they had a particular focus on ancient civilizations, it’s strange that they would have completely missed an entire one, even if it’s an underwater nation, yet there are no hints at the Eternals being aware that Talokan exists.
Namor & The Eternals Show The Problem With The MCU's History The more the MCU expands, the more stories and secrets from the MCU history come to light, but that also leads to a couple of issues. Although exploring other sides of the MCU’s history is interesting and adds to the mythology of this connected universe, given how much the MCU has expanded by now, this now inevitably leads to inconsistencies, plot holes, and unanswered questions that risk getting lost as more stories and characters are introduced. There’s still a lot to learn about the Eternals and everything they did on Earth for centuries, as well as more to learn about Talokan, and hopefully, the question of whether the Eternals knew about Talokan or not will be solved at some point in the rest of the Multiverse Saga
