After Seeing How Cool Foreigner"s Powers Are In Kraven The Hunter, I Want To See Him Fight Spider-Man

Kraven the Hunter is now in theaters, and the Marvel Universe film introduces several compelling villains, with Christopher Abbott"s The Foreigner being someone I"d like to see more of. While a Kraven 2 does not appear likely, it is worth remembering how large the universe of Spider-Man characters is, and the different places that they could recur. Even with Sony"s Universe set to end, everything within the Spider-Verse seems to be connected, and I would love to see The Foreigner have a chance to face Spider-Man himself.
Among the biggest Kraven spoilers are the ultimate fates of many of the film"s villains. With several deaths, and questions about Spider-Man appearances, the film sets up a great deal during its runtime. The whole universe of Marvel characters grew a lot larger with the film, as it featured Calypso, Chameleon, Rhino, and more. Still, with his unusual powers, and his less well-known comic book history, I found myself excited to see The Foreigner realized on screen in the film, and I"d love to see him again somewhere.
Foreigner's Powers In Kraven The Hunter Explained Foreigner Has Unique Hypnotic Abilities Close In Kraven the Hunter, The Foreigner is hired by Aleksei Sytsevich, The Rhino, to kill The Hunter. The Foreigner goes after Kraven, at which point his powers are revealed without much explanation. The Foreigner possesses incredible psionic powers that allow him to freeze how the people he fights against experience time. This disorienting power leaves his opponents defenseless for several seconds as they reel from the experience, attempting to even put together where and when they are.
This power, which is rooted in a kind of hypnotism, is seen in Marvel Comics. Despite having no superhuman strength or senses, The Foreigner is able to seem like he is moving at superhuman speed by messing with the perception of those he fights against. He is even able to hypnotize Spider-Man for up to ten seconds. These unusual powers were used well in Kraven the Hunter, even if they aren"t explained in great detail, and it would be excellent to see them examined in more detail in further films.
I Want To See Foreigner Fight Spider-Man After Kraven The Hunter Foreigner's Unique Powers Would Be Fun To See In A Conflict With Peter Parker Close While the ending of Kraven the Hunter shows that The Foreigner was killed, I can"t help but want to see him face Spider-Man. The Foreigner nearly overpowers Kraven in the film, and so he is certainly of a high enough level of ability to face Peter Parker. Seeing the way that Foreigner"s powers could mess with Spider-Man"s Spider-Sense would make for an incredible sequence of combat that would feel akin to Mysterio"s powers in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
A mercenary, Foreigner has faced off against Spider-Man in the comics but has also tried to recruit him to be an assassin. The character has a complex moral code, and much of his work and efforts are as an assassin for hire. The Foreigner has played an interesting role in the Spider-Man universe, taking on heroes and villains alike. He has also fought Spider-Man to the point of each of them having to call a draw.
How Foreigner Could Return Despite His Death In Kraven The Hunter There Are Several Marvel Options For Foreigner To Return Close While Sony"s villains universe may be at an end, the Spider-Verse continues to receive updates, and Tom Holland"s Spider-Man 4 is filming soon. As both of these universes continue to expand, they are set to use less well-known villains in their stories. The version of The Foreigner played by Christopher Abbott could easily be brought back in either of these projects using the multiverse. However, the ability to do this also suggests that other opportunities for The Foreigner exist.
A recast version of the hero in the MCU or the Spider-Verse is a distinct possibility that would also work. While Abbott is a rising star, and while his performance as the villain was effective, it was not so definitive that another actor couldn"t play the role. Either way, I want to see more of The Foreigner in the different Spider-Man projects. With an unusual skillset, incredible powers, and a type of villainy-for-hire that feels more like The Punisher than the typical Spider-Man villain, The Foreigner could be an important piece for Spider-Man stories moving forward.

Posts Whether or not The Foreigner will be seen again in Spider-Man projects remains to be seen. After all, many higher-priority Spider-Man villains, including Black Cat and Hobgoblin, have not yet received a full big-screen appearance. However, it seems that many of these projects know well how to balance their use of both popular and virtually unknown characters. While Kraven the Hunter was the first we saw of The Foreigner, I can"t help but think that it can"t possibly be the last we see of him.
