Maria Rambaeu actress Lashana Lynch teases about what is next for her in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after her big X-Men-related scene in The Marvels. While Maria may have passed away on Earth-199999, Lynch's time in the MCU timeline is far from over. With The Multiverse Saga still in full swing, Lynch appeared at the end of The Marvels, as a variant version of Maria, operating as Binary.
Following the big connection she has with the X-Men in The Marvels post-credits scene, many are obviously wondering what is next for her. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, while promoting her new film Bob Marley: One Love, Lynch was asked about The Marvels post-credits scene and whether she could shed some light on whether this is the same X-Men movie universe that fans have seen during the 20th Century Fox films, as she shared the following:

Lashana Lynch: I did know going into the movie. I didn't know what would happen next. I don't know anything, literally. Every single increment of the character has been play-by-play, so I knew about Captain Marvel, then I knew about Doctor Strange, and then I knew about The Marvels. I didn't even get the script for that, I just had those moments. I know what you know, and that's it.

For now, it would seem very likely that the next step in her arc is trying to help Monica get back to Earth-199999, as Photon got stuck in another world by the end of The Marvels. Future MCU movies will likely also explore this alternative take on the mother-daughter dynamic between the two variants, as Maria was clearly shocked over Monica calling her mom.
Another huge question about Maria's whereabouts is whether or not this is the same world as the old X-Men movies. With Kelsey Grammer playing some variation of Beast again, there is the possibility that it is indeed the same universe, with the same score being used from those films.
It is also worth noting that the same X-Men movie set was used, with Charles Xavier also being referenced.
Even if a sequel to The Marvels isn't being eyed by Marvel Studios, Lynch will likely be seen again in the MCU sooner rather than later. Whether that is later in Phase 5 or Phase 6 remains to be seen for now. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will clarify Lynch's future in the MCU after the events of The Marvels sometime this year.
