Andy Serkis Is Ready For His Star Wars Directorial Debut
Andy Serkis wants to direct a
Star Wars project after being a part of the sequel trilogy and Andor. Serkis played an instrumental role in both the sequel trilogy as Snoke and the first season of Andor as Kino Loy. He has been a part of countless franchises, but now he wants to step behind the camera to add his own voice as a storyteller to a galaxy far, far away.
Screen Rant spoke with Serkis at Star Wars Celebration after the Lucasfilm Showcase panel. He revealed that he "would love" to direct a Star Wars project in the future and discussed playing different Star Wars roles on both the big and small screens. Check out what he said below:
I would love to. I really would genuinely. I think that this universe holds a huge fascination for me. I think I am one of the rare actors who's had the opportunity to play two characters in it. But I would love to.
Which Project Could Be A Perfect Fit For Andy Serkis' Star Wars Directorial Debut

Serkis has tackled different genres and is no stranger to helming a new installment in an existing franchise, but the question with Star Wars becomes: what type of project would best fit his storytelling style? Serkis could dabble in Star Wars television to start. This would allow him to work with the more established voices of Star Wars, either with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau in a future season of The Mandalorian or even teaming up with Tony Gilroy again and returning to Andor, which is halfway through filming its second season.
