James Mangold has hinted that his Star Wars movie is about what came before the Jedi religion – how the Force was first discovered and by whom. It stands to reason that the Force existed before the Jedi Order, as the Jedi’s entire belief system is predicated on the existence of the Force and their being able to access it. If Dawn of the Jedi is in fact about whoever, or whatever, preceded the Jedi Order, then it will likely show the seeds of the Jedi Order being planted, including their beliefs, values, and, of course, their fighting styles and choice of weaponry.
