Agatha All Along Just Killed A Major Theory About Joe Locke"s Teen"s Identity And Made Scarlet Witch"s Return More Likely

Scarlet Witch"s return to the MCU has become much more likely now that Agatha All Along killed one of the most popular theories about Joe Locke"s Teen. There have already been several big reveals in Agatha All Along"s four episodes thus far, including the circumstances through which Agatha obtained the Darkhold. In traversing the Witches" Road, the witch coven assembled by Agatha has already hit a significant speed bump following the death of Sharon Davis, leading to the arrival of her replacement (and an actual Green Witch): Rio Vidal.
Little is currently known about Rio Vidal, though episode 4, entitled "If I Can"t Reach You / Let My Song Teach You," offered several more clues. The fractious chemistry between Rio and Agatha has heavily hinted at a past romance between the two, while Rio"s comments about her "Job" and swift arrival after Sharon"s demise suggest that she may be an agent of death, or even Death herself. What was made clear, however, at the end of Agatha All Along episode 4 was Agatha"s relationship with Teen - at least, according to Rio.
Agatha All Along Just Killed The Theory Teen Is Nicholas Scratch Rio Vidal Tells Agatha "That Boy Isn't Yours." Close One of the biggest mysteries in Agatha All Along surrounds Teen"s true identity, which he has been unable to elaborate on thanks to a sigil placed on him. While Teen appears to be relatively blasé about his history and has referenced his parents multiple times, one of the most convincing theories is that he is somehow Agatha"s son, Nicholas Scratch. Agatha"s noticeably biased affection towards Teen - which was on full display as Teen"s life was threatened at the end of Agatha All Along episode 4 - is the biggest hint that this is the case.
In Marvel Comics, Nicholas Scratch is depicted as being much older than Teen and even the father of Salem"s Seven.
Agatha All Along episode 3 seemed to confirm that Agatha had traded her son for the Darkhold, though she either regrets or never wanted the deal judging by her visceral reaction to her vision of the Darkhold taking the place of a bawling baby. Her pining for Nicholas was also conveyed during her "Agnes of Westview" hex-borne delusion as she gazed wistfully into an empty bedroom belonging to Nicholas. This focus on Agatha"s missing son and the circumstances surrounding his absence make it feel as though there will be some kind of pay-off down the line.

Agatha"s suspicions about Teen, however, were overridden by the episode"s final line as Rio Vidal stated "That boy isn"t yours." The assertion came moments after Teen questioned Agatha about her son and seems to draw a line beneath the theory that Teen is Nicholas Scratch, or at least a vessel for his soul. If Rio is correct, then it leaves another glaring answer to the question of Teen"s identity that stands to reason, and its validation comes with a significant implication.
Teen Being Scarlet Witch's Son Just Got A Lot More Likely If Teen Isn't Nicholas Scratch, Then He Is More Likely To Be Billy Maximoff Close The one theory more convincing than Teen being Nicholas Scratch is that he is actually Scarlet Witch"s son, Billy Maximoff, AKA Wiccan. Several hints that this is the case have cropped up throughout the show, including his magical ability (which has been shown in trailer footage to resemble Wiccan"s blue magic), his sexuality, and his age. The fact that the MCU is gearing up to introduce the Young Avengers, of which Wiccan is a founding member, also makes his introduction an inevitability. Agatha All Along feels like the perfect place to do this.

Wanda"s sons, Billy and Tommy Maximoff, are core members of the Young Avengers in Marvel Comics. This is after their souls were retro-reincarnated into the bodies of Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd. This means that, despite being dispelled along with Wanda"s hex in WandaVision, there is still a big chance that Teen is Billy Kaplan and hosts the soul of Billy Maximoff. Whether Teen is aware of his true identity as Wanda"s son remains to be seen, but if it is true, it paves multiple paths toward Scarlet Witch"s return to the MCU.
How Teen's Identity Could Lead To Scarlet Witch's Return Learning Of His Heritage Will Spur Wiccan To Resurrect His Mother Close The secrecy surrounding Teen doesn"t purely rest with the sigil placed on him. Despite professing to be traveling the Witches" Road to bolster his magical powers, the fact that he was powerful enough to break the Scarlet Witch"s hex in Agatha All Along episode 1 belies his supposed inexperience. Instead, Teen may be well aware of his identity as Billy Maximoff, and intends to use the wish granted at the end of the Witch"s Road to resurrect his mother.
Scarlet Witch ostensibly died at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after collapsing the Darkhold Castle onto herself.
Alternatively, Marvel Studios may intend to keep Billy Kaplan in the dark about his identity until the Young Avengers first assemble, as is the case in Marvel Comics. Even if this happens, and Wiccan fails to capitalize on the magic of the Witch"s Road to resurrect Wanda, the promise of a reunion between Wanda and her children would be too poignant of an opportunity for Marvel to pass up. Given Wiccan boasts a similar power set to his mother, it is feasible that he may use his reality-warping talents to bring her back from the dead.
Now that the Lord of Hell, Mephisto, is confirmed to be a presence in the MCU, Wiccan and Speed may be tempted to strike an infernal deal to bring her back.
A third option surrounds a name-drop in Agatha All Along episode 3. The fact that Teen did not question Mephisto"s name when it was mentioned by Jennifer Kale suggests that he is already aware of the supremely powerful entity, after all. Whatever the case, should Teen learn of his true heritage, then it seems entirely plausible that he"ll be the one to bring Wanda back through whatever means.
