This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Creature Commandos episode 4Creature Commandos episode 4 features several exciting Easter eggs and features, many of which connect to the greater DCU in some major ways. While the focus of this new chapter is very much on the past and origins of Weasel (Sean Gunn), it also looks forward to a very dark future. As such, there are some very cool character debuts and nods to DC Comics as well as the brand-new DC Universe that"s just begun.
As was seen in Creature Commandos episode 3, Task Force M successfully took down the Amazonian witch Circe (Anya Chalotra), only to be told that they"d just doomed the world by preventing her from killing Princess Ilana Rotovic (Maria Bakalova). Now, Creature Commandos largely takes place back at Belle Reve before Amanda Waller gives her monsters brand-new orders to go back to Pokolistan and do exactly what they"d just prevented Circe from doing. Keeping that in mind, here are the biggest Easter eggs and references we found in Creature Commandos episode 4.
9 Task Force X's John Economos John's Injuries Are From Peacemaker Season 1 Close Having been featured in both 2021"s The Suicide Squad and 2022"s Peacemaker season 1, Task Force X"s John Economos (Steve Agee) is featured working at Belle Reve. Shown trying to ward off Weasel"s lawyer, Economos is using a crutch, though the lawyer doesn"t believe his claim that he injured his leg while fighting off an alien invasion. This is a reference to the events of Peacemaker season 1.
8 Weasel's Lawyer, Elizabeth Bates Voiced By Linda Cardellini Close 7 Weasel"s lawyer is Elizabeth Bates, a character from the original DC Comics who first appeared in 1940"s Hit Comics #4. She"s also voiced by Linda Cardellini, who voiced Lyla in James Gunn"s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and played Hawkeye"s wife Laura in the MCU as well.
6 Maleficent, Hocus Pocus, Glinda All Kinds of Witchy References For Circe Close Having Circe in custody at Belle Reve, multiple witch references and jokes are made at her expense. Firstly, Amanda says they"re charging Circe with "first-degree witchy-poo and Maleficent in the second degree." Economos then chimes in with "and Bette Midler in that one movie in the third degree" to which Flag clarifies that John"s talking about the Disney movie Hocus Pocus. Later on, Waller questions why Circe would try to save the world, seeing how her resume doesn"t exactly back up the "Glinda the Good Witch routine", a reference to Wizard of Oz (and of course, Wicked).
5 "I Know It's Hip to Be A Superhero These Days" Confirming Multiple Heroes in the DCU Custom image by Andy Behbakht Waller continues questioning Circe"s altruism by saying she knows "it"s hip to be a superhero these days." This confirms the existence of other superpowered people in the DCU, such as Superman and more heroes who will soon make their debut in James Gunn and Peter Safran"s new DC Universe.
4 Circe’s Vision in Creature Commandos Episode 4 Full Of DCU Heroes and Villains (Cast and Uncast) Close Showing Waller the vision she received as a clairvoyant, Circe reveals a dark future that will be triggered by Ilana if she"s not stopped, offering first looks at multiple DCU characters who"ve been cast with live-action actors, and even those who haven"t. Here"s every character and major reveal to be found in Circe"s vision:
  • Gorilla Grodd - A classic Flash villain, Gorilla Grodd is shown allied with the Pokolistan army that Ilana will apparently muster in the future, most likely offering his psionic powers to help her break and control her foes" minds.
  • Daily Planet - The classic Metropolis newspaper where Clark Kent and Lois Lane work can be seen during Ilana"s city bombings.
  • Superman with New Logo - David Corenswet"s Superman can be seen beaten and up on a stake above a mountain of skulls in front of several other fallen heroes, complete with the brand-new House of EL logo on his chest.
  • Batman - The DCU"s Batman is also shown next to Superman, though an actor has yet to be cast.
  • Wonder Woman - Wonder Woman is also shown staked and has yet to be cast.
  • Hawkgirl - Hawkgirl will be played by Isabela Merced in 2025"s Superman.
  • Kid Flash - Kid Flash appears to be one of the fallen heroes.
  • Supergirl - Supergirl is also featured, and will be played in live-action by Millie Alcock in 2026.
  • Robin - Batman"s sidekick Robin is also shown defeated, and it"s most likely Damian Wayne.
  • Peacemaker - John Cena"s Peacemaker is shown murdered, his body lying below several of the staked heroes.
  • Vigilante - Vigilante is also shown, Peacemaker"s partner who is played by Freddie Stroma.
  • Starfire - The Titans" Starfire is shown right behind Superman.
  • Mister Terrific - Mister Terrific will also be in 2025"s Superman played by Edi Gathegi.
  • Death of Superman Torn Cape - Superman"s torn cape is the last thing Amanda Waller sees from the vision, flying in the wind as a mirror to The Death of Superman comic storyline.
3 Jedi Mind Trick Gotta Love A Star Wars Reference In The DCU Visibly and surprisingly shaken, Amanda Waller is clearly rattled by what she"s seen from Circe. However, Rick Flag claims that the witch must have messed with her mind as a "Jedi mind trick" referencing Star Wars and a Jedi"s ability to influence the mind using the Force. However, Waller is convinced that what she saw was legitimate.
2 Is Isla McPherson Setting Up DC's Wonder Woman/Amazon Show? Voiced By Stephanie Beatriz (Setting Up Paradise Island?) Close Calling in an expert, Doctor Isla McPherson is brought in to validate what Waller saw. Hailing from the comics, the DCU"s McPherson is a professor with expertise in all things Amazon, and as such she confirms the legitimacy of Circe"s clairvoyance and her vision of the DCU"s dark future. Voiced by Stephanie Beatriz, one has to wonder if McPherson may soon debut in live-action, considering that DC Studios does have a Paradise Lost series in development.
1 Eric’s Romantic Movie References Titanic/When Harry Met Sally Close At the end of Creature Commandos and after Rick Flag manages to convince Eric Frankenstein that he and The Bride are not romantically involved, the two sit down and talk. After Flag shares his concerns about Ilana and Waller"s plans to have her killed to prevent the dark future, Eric is all-in on his and the princess" "love story" comparing it to what he believes are little-known romance movies such as Titanic and When Harry Met Sally (hilariously two of the most popular romance films of all time).
New episodes of Creature Commandos release Thursdays on Max.
