An official trailer has debuted for Marvel"s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The upcoming 2D-animated series was originally titled Spider-Man: Freshman Year when the project was first announced in 2021. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man"s story was previously going to explore the origins of Tom Holland"s Spider-Man in the MCU before the events of Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, the series was revamped to follow a new version of Peter Parker in a different timeline where he is mentored by Norman Osborn.
Now, Marvel has released the official trailer that shows the latest take on Peter"s origin story as he balances high school alongside being a superhero. Peter is seen rushing to school and coming up with excuses to leave class to save the day. He uses social media live streams to showcase taking down criminals and making the world more aware of Spider-Man. He is seen battling a variety of villains, meeting with Osborn at Oscorp, and enjoying an upgraded suit. Check out the trailer below:

The 2D animation style is a fitting homage to Spider-Man"s extensive history in comics and animation while also being distinct from the animation of the Spider-Verse movies. Voiced by Hudson Thames, this version of a high school-aged Peter/Spider-Man definitely has similarities to Holland"s version of the character in the MCU, albeit with some essential differences.
