With many dark events, and a notable ascension for the titular villain, it remains to be seen how the events of the series will play into the story of The Batman - Part II and the larger universe.
Lauren LeFranc, the creator of The Penguin, recently spoke with Empire Magazine, where she provided some insight into the future. She first addressed the absence of Batman in the show, noting that the hero could not be everywhere at all times, explaining,
"Just because we don"t see Batman in our show doesn"t mean he"s unaware or uncaring." This means that the events of the show may not have been on Batman"s radar, but the fallout of those events likely will be.
