The Young Avengers are one step closer to assembling in the MCU after the Agatha All Along finale. Agatha All Along"s two-episode finale sees Agatha Harkness, Billy Kaplan, and Jennifer Kale complete all the trials in the Witches" Road, which brings them to a new stage in each of their lives: Agatha dies and becomes a ghost, Billy unlocks his true power and helps his twin brother Tommy reincarnate, and Jennifer Kale breaks Agatha"s biding spell before embarking on a new adventure on her own.
In the comics, Kang the Conqueror"s young variant Iron Lad travels back in time and comes up with the idea of assembling the Avengers to help him stop himself from becoming a villain. Since the Avengers are disbanded at the time, Iron Lad uses Vision"s "Avengers Fail-Safe Program" to bring together a new superhero team consisting of a new generation of Avengers. Iron Lad"s team follows in the Avengers" footsteps, first as young counterparts of Earth"s Mightiest Heroes (Iron Lad as Iron Man, Hulkling as Hulk, Patriot as Captain America, and Billy Kaplan as Thor) until they make a name for themselves as the Young Avengers.
The Agatha All Along Finale Officially Revealed Billy Maximoff As Wiccan Billy Becomes The Young Avenger Wiccan In Agatha All Along Episode 8 Close Agatha All Along episode 1 introduced Joe Locke"s mysterious Teen, who breaks Agatha Harkness out of Wanda Maximoff"s spell and motivates her to venture down the Witches" Road. Agatha All Along episode 5 revealed that Teen is actually Billy Maximoff, who reincarnated in the body of Billy Kaplan. In Agatha All Along episode 8, Billy completes the Witches" Road"s final trial and gains access to his natural magic, which grants him a costume and allows him to use magical spells. Billy"s costume signifies his transformation into the Marvel hero Wiccan — one of the founding members of the Young Avengers in the comics.

Curiously, Billy Maximoff was the first member of the Young Avengers to be introduced in the MCU, as a young Billy appeared in Wanda Maximoff"s Westview hex in WandaVision. Billy Maximoff disintegrates alongside his twin brother Tommy in the WandaVision finale, where Wanda lets her family go in order to free the Westview residents from her illusion. Similarly to the source material, Billy Maximoff"s death is real. Shortly after reincarnating in the body of Billy Kaplan and gaining his full power to become Wiccan, Marvel Comics" Billy Kaplan meets Hulkling, Iron Lad, and Kate Bishop, with whom he forms the Young Avengers.

For instance, Clint Barton passed on the torch to Kate Bishop in Hawkeye, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier quietly introduced Elijah Bradley a.k.a. Patriot, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania officially gave Cassie Lang her Stature superhero persona. Although Ms. Marvel isn"t originally a member of the Young Avengers, she recruits Kate Bishop into her own version of the team in The Marvels" ending scene, which directly sets up a Young Avengers movie or show.
Hulkling — Wiccan"s boyfriend and a founding member of the Young Avengers — is yet to be introduced in the MCU.
The MCU"s Young Avengers will culminate several years and several projects" worth of anticipation. One of the most compelling parts in the MCU"s crossover titles is the interaction between characters from different corners of the franchise. Just like seeing Thor meet Iron Man and Captain America was a huge event back in 2012, seeing the magical Wiccan join forces with the grounded Kate Bishop and the universe-hopping America Chavez could be one of the biggest events in the entire Multiverse Saga. Wiccan, in particular could have quite a few fun interactions with similarly eccentric characters like Kamala Khan and Riri Williams.

When Billy and Agatha find themselves in the final trial of the Witches" Road, Agatha helps Billy locate his twin brother"s spirit and place it in the body of a dying teen. As soon as Billy sees an unknown teenager drowning in a pool, he disappears from the room and appears outside in full Wiccan attire. Thus, Agatha All Along episode 8 suggests Tommy Maximoff finally reincarnated, just like his brother. In the comics, Tommy Maximoff reincarnates in the body of troubled teen Tommy Shepherd, who develops super speed and becomes a member of the Young Avengers alongside his brother Billy.

Now that Billy has achieved it, Tommy Maximoff is ready to have his own superhero origin story and character arc in the body of Tommy Shepherd. When the twins reunite, they will likely be two of the Young Avengers" founding members.
