The Batman 2 Gets Exciting Update From Andy Serkis After Latest DC Delay

Andy Serkis shares a huge positive update about The Batman 2, as the world actively waits to learn more about the upcoming DC sequel from Matt Reeves. Following the ending of The Batman, the journey has just begun for Robert Pattinson"s iteration of the Caped Crusader, as the story of The Batman 2 is in the works. However, due to many factors over the last two years, The Batman 2 has been delayed a handful of times, with the film currently set to arrive in 2027, leaving many fans more eager than ever to learn about what is coming up in the sequel.
At the recent MegaCon event, which ScreenRant was in attendance for, Serkis - who plays Alfred Pennyworth in Reeves" The Batman universe - was asked if he ever gets tired of people asking about The Batman 2. Serkis made it clear that he is just as eager as the fans are about The Batman 2, while also sharing that he had recently spoken with Reeves about the sequel, sharing the following:

I know there"s a huge appetite, and boy, am I as hungry for it as you all are... I talked to Matt recently because I was doing the press thing with him about The Penguin, I interviewed him... He told me the story of The Batman 2, and I"m so excited for it! [laughs]

What Andy Serkis' The Batman 2 Update Means Close There have been many delays that affected The Batman 2"s production, from the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes to restructuring at Warner Bros. Discovery with the launch of DC Studios. However, a lot of The Batman 2"s hold-up has also been related to the screenplay still being in the works, as Reeves and his creative team are looking to up the stakes from the 2022 installment. However, based on Serkis" latest comments about Reeves" The Batman 2, things are seemingly finally moving in the right direction.
Even though The Batman 2 script may not be completely finalized, Reeves could still, at this point, know 100% what the story is going to be for Bruce"s sequel while working out the more specific details for the script. This concept bodes well for the film, and could even mean that casting will be closer to finally starting later in the spring. Since The Batman 2 is reportedly set to start filming later in 2025, it would make sense if things are starting to get finalized behind the scenes.
