It seems like the studio not only recognizes that potential, but it plans to move fast on it. Marvel Studios" X-Men movie has already found a writer, and casting rumors have started to emerge. Now, the MCU appears to be getting the X-Men not only in theaters, but also on the small screen.
According to The InSneider, an X Academy series focused on young mutants is in the works at Marvel. The report claims that the project could even be released before the MCU"s upcoming X-Men reboot movie, though there is also the possibility that it will serve as a spinoff to the X-Men"s arrival film. In Marvel Comics, "New X-Men: Academy X" was a series that focused on young mutants who live and learn to control their powers at the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. The MCU TV show seems to be going for that same story.

The movies can be reserved for the main X-Men team, with world-ending stories and the usual superhero action in abundance. The X-Men TV series could then focus on character development first, making audiences care for the next generation of mutants and bringing in the main X-Men sparingly as teachers, which allows Marvel to show a new side of them. This way, the MCU could cover all of its bases with the X-Men.
