10 Best Steve Rogers & Sam Wilson Captain America Fight Scenes In The MCU, Ranked
Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Captain America: Brave New World.Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers share the
Captain America legacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and between the two, Captain America has been part of many of the franchise"s best fight scenes. Chris Evans led three Captain America movies as Steve Rogers, retiring from the role in 2019"s Avengers: Endgame. After receiving the iconic shield from Steve,
Sam Wilson becomes the new bearer of the mantle, showing in Captain America: Brave New World"s shocking events that he has what it takes to take on the role.
The latest Captain America movie added a few fight scenes to the hero"s best in the MCU.
Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson"s fighting styles are very different. While both have military training, Steve is a super-soldier, but Sam is not. However, he makes up for that with his Vibranium wings, leading to a whole new dynamic for Captain America. Part of some of the MCU"s most exciting movies, here are Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers" best Captain America fight scenes.
10 Captain America Defeats The Serpent Society Seen In: Captain America: Brave New World Close First up is the fight scene that introduces Sam Wilson"s Captain America to movie audiences. While Disney+"s
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier chronicled Sam"s journey to becoming the MCU"s new Captain America, this was the first time that Sam appeared on the big screen as Cap. Marvel Studios then opted to introduce him in Brave New World in the best way possible, with an exhilarating fight sequence that shows Sam"s moves.
Later in the film, Captain America"s humanity is highlighted again when he defeats Giancarlo Esposito"s Sidewinder with no gear, only using his wits.
Going after what would have been revealed to be Japan"s Adamantium, Sam Wilson goes up against the Serpent Society. Led by Giancarlo Esposito"s Sidewinder, the MCU"s new villain organization serves for Sam to showcase his fighting skills. The sequence allows Captain America"s white suit to shine, with Sam using his Vibranium wings and Redwing to take out several enemies.
Sam"s humanity is also highlighted by the use of his environment, taking out villains with bricks, and more, which focuses on how he is not a super-soldier.
9 Captain America Goes On A High-Speed Aerial Chase Seen In: Captain America: Brave New World Close Captain America: Brave New World had to focus on the main aspect that makes Sam Wilson"s fight scenes so different from Steve Rogers" visually. Keeping them from his MCU days as Falcon,
Sam"s Captain America suit includes Vibranium wings that allow him to fly, as well as absorb and dish out kinetic energy. One of the most exhilarating sequences in the new Captain America movie is the one where Marvel focuses on making that shine.
Sam is joined by
Joaquin Torres, the new Falcon, in what is a dogfight between military jets and two heroes with wings. The sequence felt like something out of the acclaimed Top Gun: Maverick, with Sam and Joaquin doing their best to avoid being hit by the Japanese jets while they tried to stop the American soldiers that had been mind-controlled by the Leader. The sequence is fast-paced, has high stakes, and is visually stunning.
8 Captain America And Bucky Get The Shield Back From John Walker Seen In: The Falcon And the Winter Soldier Close This is the only entry on the list that is not technically a Captain America fight sequence, but a Sam Wilson one. The scene can be seen as the moment
where the MCU shifted the Captain America title from John Walker to Sam. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier started with the government appointing John as Steve Rogers" successor, but after killing a villain in broad daylight with the iconic shield, Walker had to go.
Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes then took him head-on to get Captain America"s bloody shield back and strip him of the title. As
John Walker took super-soldier serum, the fight was very complicated. Walker brutally beat Sam and Bucky, while the two had to work together as a team, with Sam using his propulsor to help break Walker"s arm and get the shield back. The fight was dark and brutal.
7 Captain America Infiltrates A Mercenary Ship Seen In: Captain America: The Winter Soldier Close Chris Evans" Steve Rogers has many iconic fight scenes in the MCU. The first of them on the list is
his covert operation alongside Black Widow, where Captain America went in to rescue hostages, and Natasha Romanoff had to retrieve SHIELD secrets, which Steve did not know about. The sequence shows how easily Captain America can dispatch enemies, being a perfect showcase of his super strength and tactical prowess.
Steve puts his shield away after being challenged by the villain and beats Batroc just with his hands.
Steve dives from a Quinjet into the ocean and begins taking out foes without sounding off any alarms. Captain America mixes it up with a chokehold from behind, shield throws, punches, and kicks. The sequence builds to a finale that
has the MCU hero face Batroc, one of Captain America"s comic book villains, played by former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre. In an incredibly cold move, Steve puts his shield away after being challenged by the villain and beats Batroc just with his hands.
6 Captain America Vs Captain America Seen In: Avengers: Endgame Close Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson have always been on the same side in the MCU. As such, the two Captain Americas never fought while Chris Evans was still active in the franchise. However, Avengers: Endgame did bring a surprising Captain America fight. That said,
the battle was fought between two versions of Steve Rogers. Captain America and other heroes had to go back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones to undo Thanos" snap.

Posts 2 Thinking that the future Captain America was a disguised Loki trying to escape, the Steve from 2012"s The Avengers fights his older self. The fight is one of the movie"s most exciting moments, showing how the younger Steve might have an edge, but
the older Captain America is a better tactician. The visuals of their shields clashing and the hilarious joke about "America"s ass" make the sequence memorable.
5 Captain America Takes The Winter Soldier On The Streets Seen In: Captain America: The Winter Soldier Close Captain America: Brave New World did not hide that it was inspired by 2014"s The Winter Soldier. Evans" second Captain America movie
cemented what a grounded MCU thriller should look like. With Bucky Barnes returning as a villain, the character showed off the full might of his super strength, bionic arm, and HYDRA conditioning multiple times against Steve Rogers. The most iconic fight between the two came on the streets.

There are many memorable moments in the fight. Bucky punching Steve"s shield with his metal arm and
the Winter Soldier"s eye-catching knife flip added some flair to the fast-paced fight. Not remembering Steve, the Winter Soldier was trying to kill Captain America with every move, and he had the strength to do so, which added urgency to the ordeal. Their fight showed Captain America"s impressive hand-to-hand fighting skills.
4 Captain America Goes Up Against Red Hulk Seen In: Captain America: Brave New World Close Sam Wilson"s last fight on the list is Captain America: Brave New World"s final battle. While Tim Blake Nelson"s the Leader was the main villain of the Captain America movie, he is not a physical threat to Sam Wilson. However, the villain sets up the events of the finale, with his manipulation of Thaddeus Ross paying off.
The President of the United States turns into Red Hulk and fights Captain America.
The extended fight sequence has many exciting beats. Sam tries everything to take Red Hulk down, even hurting himself with a major energy blast from his wings to try to defeat him. The action is eye-catching, showing Sam can come up with alternatives to his lack of super-soldier serum. However,
he is not strong enough to beat Red Hulk, so it was nice to see Captain America recognize that and reason with the beast to reach Ross, de-escalating the situation and saving the day without more blood being spilled.
3 Captain America Fights Thanos Seen In: Avengers: Endgame Close Steve Rogers" super-soldier serum makes him stronger than many of the characters he fights in the MCU. However, he does not back down from taking on foes that are more powerful than him. Avengers: Infinity War showed that by Captain America putting his all into stopping Thanos, who looked genuinely shocked that he could briefly hold his hand. Then came
Avengers: Endgame, which gave Captain America a major power upgrade.
Lifting Thor"s hammer, Mjolnir, Captain America was infused with the power of lightning. That led to one of the MCU"s most iconic and awaited fight sequences. Steve gave Thanos a hard time,
using his Captain America shield and Mjolnir to hold the Mad Titan back. He even conjured lightning and threw it at the villain. While Thanos eventually manages to get the upper hand, it stands as one of Captain America"s best fight scenes.
2 Captain America And The Winter Soldier Fight Iron Man Seen In: Captain America: Civil War Close While Captain America fighting the Winter Soldier has already made its way onto the list, the two characters have also been part of one of Steve Rogers" best MCU fight scenes when fighting side by side. Captain America: Civil War is one of the MCU"s best movies, especially when it comes to action sequences. After all, it is
essentially an Avengers film that puts the heroes on two different sides.
Captain America and Bucky vs Iron Man was the perfect fight to end the movie. It had everything going for it, with high stakes, deep emotional bonds, resentment, and exhilarating action. Steve and Bucky pass the Captain America shield between them while repeatedly punching Iron Man, who in turn obliterates Bucky"s metal arm with his unibeam. When the fight becomes a one-on-one between Captain America and Iron Man, it lets Steve truly shine,
showing how Tony Stark cannot take him hand-to-hand, and Cap defeats him in an emotionally charged moment.
1 Captain America’s Iconic Elevator Fight Scene Seen In: Captain America: The Winter Soldier Close Finally, the best Captain America fight scene in the MCU, counting all of Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers, is the elevator fight from 2014"s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The scene showed why Steve was one of the MCU"s most beloved heroes.
Inside an elevator full of undercover HYDRA agents pretending to work for SHIELD, Captain America proceeds to fight all of them by himself.
It shows just how much of a formidable hand-to-hand fighter Steve Rogers is. Fighting in close quarters with limited space and several men with electric batons and more around him presented incredibly high stakes. However, Captain America thrived on the occasion, slowly making his way through the enemies and continuing past the pain of the hits he took. It showed Steve Rogers" unwavering spirit, his strength, and just how great of a fighter
Captain America is in the MCU.
