New horror movie art imagines Wanda Maximoff's Scarlet Witch returning to the MCU as something truly terrifying. Having been corrupted by the Darkhold in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda sought to redeem her dark actions at the movie's end, destroying every copy of the book by bringing down Mount Wundagore. While this seemingly resulted in her apparent death, this new piece of fan art shows a horrific way Wanda might be able to come back to the MCU.
Created by Twitter/X user @Nghtst0ck and inspired by 2023's Evil Dead Rise, this new fan art sees the Scarlet Witch taking the place of Ellie, perched up in the rafters after being possessed by a dark force. In Wanda's case, the dark force would be Chthon, the dark Elder God from Marvel Comics who created the Darkhold and is the originator of the Scarlet Witch's chaos magic:

Scarlet Witch's Missing Chthon MCU Story Could Bring About Her Return A Dark Elder God And Creator of the Darkhold

In Marvel Comics, Chthon was the creator of the Darkhold. He's also responsible for imbuing Wanda Maximoff with chaos magic to one day possess her as a powerful vessel on Earth. However, this plan backfired seeing as The Scarlet Witch was able to use the Darkhold to seal and contain his spirit within her own. To that end, Chthon could be the natural path for Wanda to return in the MCU's future.
While a statue of Chthon was featured within Mount Wundagore, his presence was non-existent in The Multiverse of Madness beyond Wanda's gradual corruption by his Darkhold. Now, perhaps Chthon could take full possession of Wanda after she destroyed every copy and brought about her own demise. It's hard to imagine the Elder God reviving and resurrecting her body as his brand-new vessel in the MCU's future, though it would be one of the darkest ways in which The Scarlet Witch could come back.

Scarlet Witch Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Scarlet Witch debuted, along with her twin brother, Quicksilver in X-Men #4 (March 1964). Also known as Wanda Maximoff, she first appears as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, before she eventually became a member of the Avengers. In the comics, she is a mutant who uses chaos magic to alter reality.

Scarlet Witch is played by Elizabeth Olsen in the MCU, having debuted in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
