DC, I"m Begging You To Stop Making Superman"s Saddest Lois Lane Story Even Worse

Superman & Lois has put Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) through the wringer. In just 4 seasons, that iteration of the plucky journalist has experienced more tragedy than most iterations of the character. Sure, being married to Superman is hard, but the series keeps piling on tragedy after tragedy on this Lois. From cancer to family drama to the loss of multiple loved ones in rapid succession, this poor woman is the show"s punching back. Now that Superman & Lois is reaching its end, I sincerely hope that Lois is given a satisfying conclusion.
With only 7 episodes left in the final season of the CW series, I am worried that she will have to go through worse before things start looking up. This season has been explosive so far, with some truly wild moments including the death of Superman himself. That"s right; DC killed the title character of the show. Lois is left to pick up the pieces, and I am left thinking the writers have to be pulling my leg. Regardless, this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what Lois has been through in Superman & Lois.
Superman & Lois Has Consistently Given Lois Lane The Saddest Storylines Season By Season Lois Lane Can't Catch A Break Close One such example of how Superman & Lois gives the latter character the most depressing stories is the treatment of Lucy Lane, her sister. Jenna Dewan reprises the role of Lucy, after having played her on Supergirl, though this iteration of the character is very different. Prior to the start of the series, Lois and Lucy had a falling out over the former exposing cult leader Ally Allston. Lucy believed in Ally so much that she took drastic actions such as swallowing a bottle of pills and cutting Lois out entirely. She re-enters Lois" life in season 2.
Ally"s cult focused on merging the real world with the Inverse World, the original home of Bizarro. Lucy believed that merging with her inverse self would make her "whole."
Unfortunately, she was still part of Ally"s cult and only wanted to discredit Lois. Throughout the season, Lucy betrays Lois over and over again. She only saw reason after Ally attacked her father, Sam Lane, in order to compel Superman to appear. Lois tried in vain to reach out to Lucy before things went this far, but the younger Lane was too enthralled with Ally"s false promises to care.
Just one season later, Lois thinks she is pregnant with her third child, only to instead be diagnosed with stage three inflammatory breast cancer. While the comic "Superman & Batman: Generations" did a similar storyline, Superman & Lois really delves into how she is affected by the disease. For example, she experiences denial and keeps trying to chase a lead instead of going to her chemotherapy treatments.
