The MCU"s Superman Is Set To Be Introduced 14 Days After The DC Universe"s Reboot

Summary
  • The DC Universe is rebooting with a new Superman, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe will introduce their equivalent, Sentry, just two weeks later.
  • The DC Universe will now have a united continuity across various media platforms, and the new Superman film, "Superman: Legacy," will explore his Kryptonian heritage.
  • The introduction of Sentry in the MCU's "Thunderbolts" provides an opportunity to explore a complex, powerful character and potentially rival DC's new Superman. The character has the potential to become a major villain in the MCU, similar to Loki.
The DC Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe continue to expand, and the latter’s equivalent of Superman will most likely be introduced two weeks after the DC Universe’s reboot and the introduction of the new Superman. As the DC Extended Universe didn’t have the success Warner expected, the studio made many changes to their plans and a whole reboot was announced, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The new DC Universe will feature a united continuity and story across live-action films, TV, animation, and video games, and it will kick off with the introduction of a new Superman.
Directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet, Superman: Legacy will follow a young version of Superman as he goes on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human family. Superman: Legacy is scheduled for a July 11, 2025 release, and just 14 days later, the second movie from the MCU’s Phase 6, Thunderbolts, will arrive. Directed by Jake Schreier, Thunderbolts will introduce a team of reformed antagonists, of which most are already-known characters, along with new characters. Among those is believed to be Sentry, the MCU’s equivalent of Superman, which makes for an interesting coincidence between the MCU and the DC Universe.
