Star Wars Secretly Set Up Eight Potential Members Of Luke Skywalker"s Jedi Order
Summary
- Darth Vader killed Jedi Archivist Jocasta Nu and destroyed a secret list containing the names and locations of Force-sensitive children, saving them from a dark fate.
- These children might have grown up to join Luke Skywalker's Jedi Order, assuming they survived the Dark Times and the Galactic Civil War.
- Despite Vader's actions, Palpatine still had Imperial Inquisitors who hunted down Jedi survivors and Force-sensitive children. However, a secret network called The Hidden Path may have helped some children evade the Empire to possibly be discovered by Luke Skywalker later on.
The earliest days of the Empire seemingly revealed eight potential members of Luke Skywalker's Jedi Order in the
Star Wars canon. As seen at the dawn of the Empire, Darth Vader was still adjusting to his dark new role as Palpatine's apprentice and right hand as the Emperor's control over the galaxy was established in the era known as the Dark Times, set between the prequel and original trilogies of films. However, a source of hope for future Jedi might have been discovered by Vader himself.
As seen in Charles Soule and Giuseppe Camuncoli's Darth Vader #10, the canonical issue saw Darth Vader being tasked with hunting down Jedi Archivist Jocasta Nu who returned to Coruscant in the wake of Order 66 and the devastating Jedi Purge seen in Revenge of the Sith. Wanting Jocasta for her unique knowledge of both Jedi and Sith secrets, Palpatine gave orders for the Jedi survivor to be brought to him alive. However, Vader ultimately made a different decision when he came face to face with the Jedi archivist, especially after discovering the secret list Jocasta was trying to recover in a bid to ensure the Jedi Order's future.
