10 Best Fight Scenes In Daredevil: Born Again, Ranked

Daredevil: Born Again has officially concluded, and the series has brought with it some phenomenal fight scenes. As great as the story, dialogue, and performances of the original Daredevil on Netflix were, it would be remiss not to mention the jaw-dropping hand-to-hand fight sequences the series got away with. Making their progenitor series proud, Daredevil: Born Again has unleashed some phenomenal battles on its viewers that, in some cases, even surpass those of the original show.
Daredevil: Born Again has ended the first season with some of the best fight sequences in the MCU, with daring small-scale battles using real stunt choreography that often manage to be more exciting than hordes of CGI armies clashing together. The fights also made full use of the series" unabashed TV-MA rating, hearkening back to the brutality of the Netflix series and even eclipsing it in some cases. However, it"s hard to deny some of the season"s fights were better than others, with only a select few worthy of watching again and again.
10 Matt Murdock Vs The Bank Robbers More of a series of quick take-downs

The tumultuous production of Daredevil: Born Again occasionally shone through in the first season with some sub-plots coming and going quite quickly, especially with bottle episodes such as episode 5, With Interest. Here, a group of Irish bank robbers descend upon a bank to wreak havoc on Saint Patrick"s Day just as Matt Murdock is there failing to get a loan for his law firm. Ever the hero, Matt can"t walk away from the crisis without doing something.
Matt is able to surprise one of the robbers, dismantling him on the bank"s stairs before saving Yusuf from a murderous thug with a decisive blow. Matt gets some impressive moves off in this sequence, including casually bashing a crook"s head against a stone pillar just as the police arrive, but the gun-wielding thieves hardly put up a fight. More of a series of quick takedowns than a proper brawl, this sequence barely squeaks in some recognition alongside more comprehensive action scenes.
9 Matt Murdock Vs Corrupt Cops Demonstrated how brutal Born Again would be

Another fight with Matt Murdock in plainclothes, Matt"s first battle against the crooked cops under Kingpin"s employ is one of the inciting incidents bringing him back out of retirement as Daredevil. Becoming embroiled in a case that could threaten the grip of the corrupt police department, that being White Tiger"s accidental murder of a police officer, Matt soon finds a target on his back more dangerous than he could"ve imagined. Shockingly, the force is willing to stoop low enough to assault what they think is a defenseless blind lawyer in retaliation.
However, the thugs get more than they bargained for when Matt springs into action, brutally taking them down one at a time. Moments like the cringe-inducing arm snap here demonstrate that though Daredevil: Born Again may be on Disney+, it isn"t willing to skimp out on the gore that made the Netflix series so compelling. This fight is over quickly and doesn"t have too many standout beats, but it"s at least a better show of Matt knocking off the rust in his combat acumen than his bank battle.
8 Matt Murdock Vs Devlin A satisfying beat-down against a smarmy villain

After escaping the chaos of the bank in episode 5, Matt races to track down the Irish gang"s leader, the scummy Devlin, who manages to get away. Luckily, Matt is able to conveniently pocket the red mask of one of the bank robbers to give chase, using his cane as a makeshift baton. With this ad-hoc Daredevil look, Matt confronts the gang"s leader and engages him in a brutal fight amidst some scaffolding.
It"s a thrill to see Matt be able to tango with a more competent opponent, with Devlin actually getting a few solid hits in. However, Matt"s weapon, acrobatics, and ability to hang off the edge of the scaffolding to deliver a two-legged kick like Jean-Claude Van Damme proves to be too much. The flying knee straight into Devlin"s leg that sends it bending the wrong way with a crunch is a satisfying way to punctuate this brief, but fun fight.
7 The Subway Station Fight The start of a harrowing investigation

White Tiger is one of the best new characters introduced in Daredevil: Born Again, and his sub-plot starts off with a bang thanks to one fateful fight on a subway platform. While out and about out-of-costume, Hector Ayala sees a couple of plainclothes cops beating up a helpless informant on a subway platform, not knowing the full extent of the situation but barging in anyway. It"s not long before Hector is dragged into a 2 on 1 fight which ends in tragedy when one of the cops misses a haymaker and slips into an oncoming train.
Even if he isn"t in costume, it"s great that audiences got to see a snippet of White Tiger"s moves, standing up for the weak even without the benefit of the magical amulet that grants him powers. Hector seems to favor putting his opponents in headlocks, and surely would have made quick work of either of the cops if he faced them one on one. Even if it isn"t the most dynamic fight, the gut punch of an ending and demonstration of Ayala"s character bumps it up a few notches in terms of drama and stakes.
6 The Punisher Vs His Fans Frank doesn't exactly appreciate his fanboys

While the franchise sometimes fails to adapt certain comic arcs well, in other cases, the MCU actually improves on the source material. This happens in Daredevil: Born Again when The Punisher learns that Kingpin"s corrupt task force of cops has been appropriating his classic skull symbol for their own use, apparently idolizing Frank Castle"s work. In the comics, this prompts him to give them a stern talking to and tear up their Punisher logo stickers, telling them to idolize Captain America instead.
Meanwhile, Jon Bernthal"s Punisher tears through his fanboys with a ferocious fervor, letting him know just how little he thinks of their misinformed hero worship. Bernthal"s howls of rage are terrifying as he guns down one cop after another, ripping off their riot shields and knocking them around. Sadly, a few points are lost due to how little thought Frank gives the battle, blindly charging in to be outnumbered and overpowered later.
5 Kingpin Vs Adam Showcased Fisk's inhuman strength

One interesting thing Daredevil: Born Again manages to accomplish is to bring Kingpin closer in line with his comic self. While he doesn"t quite reach the absurdity of Kingpin"s blocky stature in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Vincent D"Onofrio"s Wilson Fisk inexplicably becomes larger and stronger in the wake of his mayorship, boasting nigh-inhuman levels of power. He shows off this new physique in his fight against Adam, Vanessa"s lover, who he kidnaps and tortures out of jealous rage.
To make a point, Kingpin gives Adam a fire ax to level the playing field before engaging him in a fight for his life, the two duking it out for literal and emotional survival. Kingpin"s strength is nothing short of terrifying, backhanding Adam across the room and slamming him into the ceiling hard enough to make rubble fall. Adam isn"t much of an opponent, but giving Kingpin a punching bag to exercise his demons on makes for a slightly above-average fight.
4 Daredevil Vs Muse Daredevil's first true return to form
![]()
Despite all the corruption and danger of Fisk"s reign of New York City, it takes a prolific serial killer to get Matt back out into the fray as Daredevil once more. The deranged artist Muse ends up kidnapping Hector Ayala"s daughter, prompting a response from Daredevil with each precious second ticking down. Muse"s eyes go wide when he finds his opponent won"t be White Tiger, Punisher, or a police office, but the Devil from Hell"s Kitchen himself back and out of retirement.
The following fight is so great because Matt clearly revels in his return to the action, purposefully tanking hits he doesn"t need to just to hype himself up and feel the building adrenaline. Matt unleashes some creative moves here, using his grapple as a zip-line to punch Muse extra hard, choking him with the cable, and bouncing his weapons off his head as projectiles, only to catch them again. It"s a fight for survival over the body of Muse"s victim, but the battle"s quality is weakened somewhat by Muse"s pitiful showing and frequent cuts away from the action.
3 Daredevil Vs Muse Rematch A more even scuffle compared to their first meeting

Luckily, Daredevil and Muse get a second chance to throw down before the season ends, with their second battle being far more even and intense. It turns out that Matt"s latest girlfriend, Dr. Heather Glenn, has the unfortunate privilege of being Muse"s therapist, which gets her on the canvas chopping block to become his latest sick art installation. Daredevil arrives just in time as Heather rapidly loses blood and the police converge in on the crime scene.
Muse is a far more competent and prepared fighter this time around, showing off some impressive taekwondo kicks courtesy of his backstory the previous therapy session just revealed. What starts as a wrestle for control of a gun turns into a beautiful brawl in broad daylight, with spectacular beats like Daredevil impaling Muse in the shoulder with his grapple and dragging him across his own canvas, unintentionally creating a blood painting fit to join Muse"s portfolio. If only the melee lasted a bit longer before Heather guns Muse down, the fight could"ve been ranked even higher.
2 Daredevil Vs Bullseye A brilliant showcase of both fighters' power
![]()
Perhaps the single best lingering plot thread from the original Daredevil that Daredevil: Born Again was able to follow up on was the return of Bullseye, a.k.a. Benjamin Poindexter. The first season starts off with a bang as Bullseye assassinates Foggy Nelson, prompting a long and drawn-out brawl between him and Daredevil through a bar. It was quite bold of the series to put their best foot forward by starting things off with one of the more exciting fight scenes.
Daredevil"s powers and use of his new grappling batons are excellent here, doing everything he can to protect the bar"s patrons from Bullseyes rampage and close the distance so he can beat down on the marksman with righteous fury. Meanwhile, Bullseye is an absolute menace, making trickshots with random objects like billiards balls to kill random bystanders just to get a rise out of Daredevil and turning him into a pincushion of throwing knives. Between the bouncing projectiles, roars of rage, and brutal tear-down melee, it"s a shock this fight isn"t the best one of the series.
1 Daredevil And Punisher Vs Fisk's Task Force Diametric opposites fighting together
![]()
Of course, leave it to Jon Bernthal"s Punisher to help end the first season with a bang, producing a battle that actually outdoes Daredevil and Bullseye"s opening fight. Holed up in Matt"s apartment, Daredevil and Punisher ambush Wilson Fisk"s SWAT team of corrupt task force cops, looking to put an end to their vigilante justice once and for all. It"s amazing to see both vigilantes to allow themselves to fight side-by-side despite their drastically different methods and fighting styles.
Daredevil is a flurry of baton hits, precision strikes, and disarming takedowns, dancing in between gunfire despite still nursing a bullet to the shoulder. Meanwhile, Punisher is an absolute beast, showing no mercy as he executes the home invaders point-blank with shotguns, pistols, and combat knives. Best of all is watching Daredevil and Punisher cover each other, with a single extended sequence right at the end of the fight showing them working together to create the single most exciting action beat in
Daredevil: Born Again, bar none.
