I’ve Worked Out The Perfect Way For Gambit, Blade & Elektra To Return To The MCU After Deadpool & Wolverine

I've figured out the best way that Marvel Studios can bring Gambit, Blade and Elektra back to the MCU after their appearances in Deadpool & Wolverine. For me, one of the strongest aspects of Deadpool & Wolverine was its nostalgia. The movie acts as a love letter to Marvel's movie history, good and bad, and it does this so brilliantly by bringing back several iconic heroes as members of Deadpool & Wolverine's main cast. Deadpool & Wolverine might have opened the door for their stories to continue in the MCU, and I know how.
Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, a variant of his original hero, were the stars of the show, but Deadpool & Wolverine didn't shy away from calling back to some of Marvel's less popular live-action projects. I loved seeing Wesley Snipes' Blade and Jennifer Garner's Elektra back in action, redeeming themselves from their disappointing runs in the Blade trilogy, and Daredevil and Elektra, respectively. Channing Tatum also finally debuted as Gambit after years of lobbying for the role, and, now they've shown what they can do, I'd love to see these heroes return to the MCU.

1 I Want Gambit, Blade & Elektra To Return After Deadpool & Wolverine Gambit, Blade & Elektra Contributed To Some Of Deadpool & Wolverine's Best Moments Although they may have previously left me with a bad taste in the mouth, Blade and Elektra's returns to live-action, and Gambit's debut, contributed to some of my favorite moments from Deadpool & Wolverine. Each of these characters has grown massively since their debuts over two decades ago, and the extra seasoning of Wesley Snipes and Jennifer Garner as actors means they were able to deliver much stronger, funnier and more believable performances. I'd love to see them get more opportunities to show off their talents in the MCU's future.

The same goes for Channing Tatum's Gambit. He originally auditioned to be in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, and then was supposed to appear in a solo Gambit movie, but none of his planned debuts ever came to fruition. I was so satisfied seeing Tatum finally bring his hilarious version of Gambit to life on the big-screen, and I think it would be such a waste for Marvel Studios to simply call it quits there. Luckily, I've worked out the best way for Marvel Studios to bring Gambit, Blade and Elektra back to the MCU.
MCU’s Special Presentation Format Would Work Perfectly For Catching Up With Classic Marvel Characters Marvel Studios Has Only Released Two Special Presentations So Far Close In July, Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed to Collider that another Special Presentation is in the works for the MCU. I've been confused about why Marvel Studios isn't taking more advantage of the Special Presentation format, as, for me, concise hour-long stories focused on more unusual characters seems the perfect way to expand the MCU without worrying too much about continuity. Werewolf by Night did this perfectly, while The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special was a fun story for the titular team. I think Special Presentations can be used to explore Deadpool & Wolverine's returned heroes further.

At the end of Deadpool & Wolverine, the Time Variance Authority presumably returned Blade and Elektra to their original timelines, so Special Presentations could catch up with them in their own worlds. A Special Presentation could also explore what happened to Wolverine and X-23 in their new Earth-10005 home after Deadpool & Wolverine. Utilizing this format would be the perfect way for Marvel Studios to develop these characters much more than Deadpool & Wolverine could, and I think this would be great for building them up to have a role in Avengers: Secret Wars.
At Least One Special Presentation After Deadpool & Wolverine Would Be Fantastic Channing Tatum's Future As Gambit Is Uncertain After Deadpool & Wolverine Of course, I would love to see Jennifer Garner's Elektra, Wesley Snipes' Blade and Dafne Keen's X-23 to return. However, Deadpool & Wolverine may have also provided their perfect endings, allowing them to return home and continue to live their lives in peace. This isn't the case for one hero in Deadpool & Wolverine, however, as I'm less certain about Gambit's future after the movie. This is especially true after the release of a deleted scene from Deadpool & Wolverine (via Ryan Reynolds), which teased Gambit traveling through a "Marvel Sparkle Circle."
I think the most necessary Special Presentation for Marvel Studios to develop after Deadpool & Wolverine is one focused on Channing Tatum's Gambit. Nothing is known about Remy LeBeau's home reality, his background, his connection to other X-Men heroes and his next steps. There have been calls for Tatum to reprise the role in the MCU, and while I don't think Gambit could lead a full feature film, an hour-long Special Presentation would be perfect. Ultimately, I'd want this to conclude his story, allowing a new actor to be cast as the MCU's official Gambit.
