10 Marvel Witches We Still Want To See In The MCU After Agatha All Along

Several new and exciting witches have debuted in Agatha All Along, creating the opportunity for even more from Marvel Comics to make their way into the MCU. Witchcraft, magic and sorcery have been central to the MCU since the Asgardians appeared in Thor, the Masters of the Mystic Arts showed up in Doctor Strange, and WandaVision expanded the story of the Scarlet Witch. There are many magic-users now in the MCU, with new witches taking center-stage in Marvel Television"s Agatha All Along, but even more could soon appear.
After WandaVision introduced Kathryn Hahn"s original Salem witch, Agatha Harkness, the door was opened for more witches and sorcerers to follow suit. Agatha All Along"s remarkable cast portray the likes of Lilia Calderu, Jennifer Kale, Alice Wu-Gulliver and Vertigo, some of the most powerful witches in Marvel Comics, but there are still many witches missing from live-action. It would be amazing to see some of these formidable witches brought into the MCU after Agatha All Along.
10 Amora, A.K.A. Enchantress Enchantress First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1964's Journey Into Mystery #103 Close While several witches have adopted the Enchantress moniker over the years, Amora was the first to assume this title. Born in Asgard, Amora is the sister of Lorelai, the villain portrayed by Elena Satine in Agents of SHIELD season 1. Amora was an apprentice to Karnilla, Queen of the Norns, who taught her magic, and she continued her studies after Karnilla was banished, eventually becoming one of the most powerful magic-users in Asgard. She was sent by Odin to eliminate Jane Foster, coming into conflict with Thor.
Related 10 Awesome Thor Moments We'll Miss Out On If Chris Hemsworth Never Returns To The MCU Chris Hemsworth has avoided confirming his return as Thor. If he doesn"t come back, the MCU will miss out on several incredible moments.
The second Enchantress in Marvel Comics was Sylvie Lushton, who formed the inspiration for Sophia Di Martino"s Sylvie in the MCU"s Loki series. It would be great to see Amora"s Enchantress brought into the MCU, too, though this would likely be in a Thor-centric story, rather than one specifically focused on witches such as Agatha All Along. There may even be more powerful witches that Marvel Studios could bring into the MCU, while Enchantress would still make for a powerful addition to the MCU"s Thor franchise.
9 Topaz Topaz First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1974's Werewolf By Night #13 Close Topaz first appeared as a love interest to Jack Russell"s Werewolf by Night, and later was a recurring supporting character in Doctor Strange"s storylines. She later starred alongside the likes of Ghost Rider and Spider-Man, before headlining her own stories as a member of a new coven, comprising Topaz, Satana Hellstrom and Jennifer Kale. Sasheer Zamata"s debut as Jennifer Kale in the MCU"s Agatha All Along makes Topaz"s introduction to the MCU very likely, which would be a fantastic development.
Jennifer Kale is a potions witch in Agatha All Along, and was the subject of the first trial on the fabled Witches" Road.
Kale, Hellstrom and Topaz"s trio came to be known as the Witches, and they were brought together by Doctor Strange to battle a monster inadvertently let loose by Andy Kale. Topaz is a very empathetic character, and perhaps the gentlest of the Witches, so it would be great to see her play opposite Zamata"s Jennifer Kale in the MCU. It"s possible she could appear in Doctor Strange 3, as Topaz became Doctor Strange"s protégé, and she also had dealings with the demon Mephisto, so her MCU debut could be right round the corner.
8 Nico Minoru, A.K.A. Sister Grimm Nico Minoru First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 2003's Runaways #1 Close Considered to be one of the most notable and powerful witches in the Marvel Universe, and a solid representative of the LGBTQ+ community, Nico Minoru has been a fan-favorite since her debut in 2003. This only increased following Lyrica Okano"s debut as Nico Minoru in Hulu series Runaways, which was initially set in the MCU, but is no longer considered canon. While Okano may not return as Minoru in the MCU proper, it would be great to see the formidable witch debut properly alongside Agatha Harkness and the Scarlet Witch.
Related Marvel's Runaways: 10 Characters Most Likely To Join The MCU Canon is constantly changing in the MCU, leaving many fans to ask whether the Hulu series Runaways is ever going to be integrated into the MCU.
The daughter of dark wizard members of the Pride, Nico Minoru joins the Runaways, and uses her ability to summon the Staff of One to become a huge asset to the team and a stand-out magic-user in the Marvel Universe. As the team"s de facto leader, Nico Minoru would be a significant addition to the MCU, particularly since the upcoming animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to feature Grace Song voicing the witch. Nico Minoru"s Sister Grimm would be great to see in the MCU"s main timeline.
7 Amanda Sefton Amanda Sefton First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1976's X-Men #98 Close Amanda Sefton"s Marvel Comics backstory is a little confusing and controversial. She is both the foster sister and former lover of Kurt Wagner"s mutant Nightcrawler, so the German X-Men member"s possible upcoming debut could create the perfect opportunity for Sefton"s introduction. Originally named Jimaine Szardos, Sefton and her mother are both Manouche witches (Romani from France), and are very powerful beings. While Sefton moved to America and became Nightcrawler"s on again, off again partner, while her mother attacked the X-Men.

Amanda Sefton has operated as the heroes Daytripper and Magik at different times in Marvel Comics, so she has plenty of room to develop and change in the MCU following her debut. Sefton"s introduction would be a fantastic way to explore the witches of the wider world, outside the United States. Sefton could even be used as the vehicle to bring Nightcrawler and other X-Men members into the MCU, as she is heavily involved in many X-Men storylines in the comics, while also appearing alongside any number of magic-users.
6 Witchbreaker Witchbreaker First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 2007's Runaways (Vol. 2) #28 Close Not much is known about Marvel Comics" Witchbreaker, other than that she is an incredibly powerful witch who is of Japanese origin. Witchbreaker claimed to be Nico Minoru"s great-grandmother, and was a member of the Upward Path, an organization that formed to try and uphold order in New York City in the early 20th Century. Witchbreaker tortured Nico Minoru as a test to determine whether she was worthy of her powers, but this act actually made the young witch even stronger and more in control of her abilities.
Related Every Marvel Witch Who Could Be In Agatha's Coven Of Chaos The WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, is set to feature Kathryn Hahn"s Agatha Harkness along with a brand new coven of witches for the MCU.
Witchbreaker is perhaps the most formidable, mysterious and haunting little-known witch in Marvel Comics, meaning Marvel Studios would have free rein when bringing her into the MCU. She could be pivotal in developing the story of Nico Minoru prior to her possible MCU reinvention, while she could have also had dealings with the likes of Agatha Harkness and Lilia Calderu, both of whom have also lived for centuries. Witchbreaker"s introduction would work well to expand on the creepier and more horror-based supernatural MCU stories.
5 Opal Luna Saturnyne Saturnyne First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1982's The Mighty World Of Marvel: Marvel Superheroes #381 Close Saturnyne would fit perfectly into the MCU"s Multiverse Saga, as she is a witch known as the Ruler of Otherworld, where the Captain Britain Corps meet. She originated in an alternate universe, and oversaw the meetings of the formidable Captain Britain variants from across the multiverse, one of whom, the MCU"s official Captain Britain, has been rumored to be debuting before Avengers: Secret Wars. If Captain Britain appears, it would be great to also see the White Witch, one of the most powerful witches in existence.
Henry Cavill was speculated to be playing the MCU"s Captain Britain prior to his cameo appearance as a Wolverine variant in 2024"s Deadpool & Wolverine.
Recently, Saturnyne has been depicted as the mystical enemy of an iconic Marvel villain, Apocalypse. Apocalypse has also been speculated to be coming to the MCU following 2027"s Secret Wars, so it would be fantastic to see Saturnyne battle him using her remarkable abilities. She could even be based on the Courtney Ross version of Saturnyne, introduced first as Brian Braddock"s college girlfriend before becoming a powerful and significant witch in the MCU, one whose power rivals that of the Scarlet Witch herself.
4 Satana Hellstrom Satana Hellstrom First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1973's Vampire Tales #2 Close Satana Hellstrom, and her brother Daimon, are human-demon hybrids in Marvel Comics, so the recent focus on supernatural stories in the MCU could hint at their upcoming debuts. While not technically a witch, Satana was taught black magic as a child by her father, Marduk Kurios, who went by the alias, Satan. Satana started her life on a villainous path, but joined forces with some of Marvel"s most notable heroes in the years since, including Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Nick Fury and Deadpool.
Satana was portrayed in live-action by Sydney Lemmon in Hulu"s Helstrom series, which unfortunately didn"t perform well at all. She is a fantastic character, however, who performs very dark magic as a demon and magic-user. She deserves redemption in the MCU, particularly after Agatha All Along delivered the first name-drop of the demon Mephisto, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law took Madisynn to a demonic realm. It"s about time demons got more attention in the MCU, and Satana and Daimon Hellstrom"s debuts would be a great way to kick this off.
3 Cynthia Von Doom Cynthia Von Doom First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1971's Astonishing Tales #8 Close With Robert Downey Jr. set to return to the MCU as Victor Von Doom, it stands to reason that his witch mother, Cynthia Von Doom, may also appear. Downey Jr."s Doctor Doom is set to play a central role in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, and these crossover movies could explore his backstory and relationship with his mother. Cynthia Von Doom learned magic from Dizzy the Hun, and learned how to communicate with demons and use spells. This brought her into contact with Mephisto.
Doctor Doom and Mephisto have a long-running feud in Marvel Comics because of the latter"s taking of Cynthia Von Doom"s soul, which has contributed to some of Doctor Doom"s most heroic moments.
Cynthia Von Doom made a deal with Mephisto to spare her people from persecution at the hands of Latveria"s tyrannical ruler, but her uncontrollable new power led to her killing children as well as the Baron"s soldiers. In grief, she renounced the power and was killed, but this sent her soul into Mephisto"s realm to be tortured for eternity. After Agatha All Along mentioned Mephisto, and the confirmation of Doctor Doom"s upcoming debut, it seems very likely that Cynthia Von Doom will appear in the MCU"s future.
2 Morgan Le Fay Morgan Le Fay First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1955's Black Knight #1 Close There has been speculation about Morgan le Fay"s MCU debut for many years, even after Elizabeth Hurley portrayed the character in Hulu"s Runaways. Half human and half fairy, Morgan le Fay is also not a biological witch, similarly to Satana Hellstrom. She is the half-sister to the mythical King Arthur, and she has used her Elven immortality to master the Mystic Arts, making her a formidable sorcerer. Most notably, Morgan le Fay has a strong connection to the Darkhold in Marvel Comics, and the Book of the Damned has recently seen a huge amount of focus in the MCU.
Related 10 Villains Perfect For Marvel's Rumored Midnight Sons Team Marvel has introduced several MCU heroes perfect for their supernatural team, the Midnight Sons. Of course, they will need a villain to face too.
Attention being thrown on the Darkhold in projects including WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Agatha All Along creates the perfect opportunity for Morgan le Fay"s debut. For a time, she was a member of the Darkholders, a group that worshiped the Darkhold. Morgan le Fay"s debut in the MCU, especially with the set-up that has already taken place, would make a great deal of sense, and would change the power rankings of the MCU"s supernatural storylines significantly.
1 Illyana Rasputina, A.K.A. Magik Magik First Appeared In Marvel Comics In 1975's Giant-Size X-Men #1 Close Born a mutant, Illyana Rasputina became a powerful sorcerer during her time imprisoned in Limbo, where her mutant ability also first emerged. Magik is able teleport using discs that utilize Limbo"s magic, which makes her a formidable asset to the X-Men, the New Mutants and the Phoenix Five in Marvel Comics. Magik is a fan-favorite mutant hero, and a supremely powerful sorcerer thanks to Limbo"s untapped potential, so it would be fantastic to see her reimagined in the MCU, especially after 20th Century Fox"s X-Men franchise failed her.
Anya Taylor-Joy did a solid job of portraying Magik in 2020"s The New Mutants, but the movie"s faults and pitfalls led her down significantly. Magik was also only briefly seen in Marvel Animation"s X-Men "97 series, and this was only when Morph transformed into her. Illyana Rasputina deserves more attention in the MCU, particularly since her magical abilities have been all but ignored in previous live-action stories. Magik could only be one of many new witches brought into the MCU following Marvel Television"s Agatha All Along.
