Chris Pine Is The Perfect Hal Jordan Green Lantern In Stunning DC Universe Art

New DC Universe fan art proves that Chris Pine would be perfect for the role of Hal Jordan"s Green Lantern in DC Studios" upcoming Lanterns series. James Gunn confirmed Lanterns" development in January 2023, and he and Peter Safran have teased a grounded, True Detective-style storyline for the Earth-based series focused on DC"s cosmic heroes, Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Chris Mundy, Tom King and Damon Lindelof penned the pilot, with Mundy serving as the series" showrunner, making Lanterns one of DC"s most highly-anticipated upcoming projects.
In recent weeks, Lanterns has been the subject of huge casting speculation, as DC Studios nears casting its live-action Hal Jordan. High-profile stars such as Josh Brolin, Matthew McConaughey and Ewan McGregor have been named in contention for the role, but Chris Pine has also been a popular option. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brolin passed on playing Green Lantern, while McConaughey has also dropped out of the running, which may give Chris Pine a fighting chance. New fan art shared by 21xfour proves Chris Pine would be perfect as Hal Jordan"s Green Lantern.
What Chris Pine Playing Hal Jordan Would Mean For The DC Universe Chris Pine Previously Played Steve Trevor In The DC Extended Universe Close DC Studios seems to be wanting to cast an older actor as Hal Jordan in the DCU, perhaps taking on more of a mentorship role for the younger John Stewart. However, the possible castings of actors such as Brolin, McConaughey and McGregor has received some backlash from DC Comics fans, so the fact that Chris Pine is the youngest actor on this list, at 44-years-old, could work in his favor. This would mean Pine delivers a more seasoned and hardened Hal Jordan, while still having a youthful and charismatic energy.
