Tom Welling"s Older Superman Gets An Unexpected DC Crossover With Keanu Reeves" Constantine In New Smallville Multiverse Art

Keanu Reeves" Constantine teams up with Tom Welling"s Superman from Smallville through new DC multiverse artwork. Before the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DCEU movie timeline were created, the 2000s had very few superhero properties on the big and small screens. While The WB (and later on The CW) told Clark Kent"s ultimate origin story through Smallville, Reeves portrayed the first live-action version of Constantine in 2005 in his own solo movie that has become a cult classic.
With the potential of Smallville coming back in the form of an animated sequel series, and Constantine 2 being in development, the 2000s era of superheroes is potentially getting a big spotlight in the current period. To show what it would look like if Welling"s Superman and Reeves" Constantine were to join forces, Buffy2Ville shared new DC artwork where the two worlds come together. Check it out below:
Art by Buffy2Ville What Tom Welling's Superman & Keanu Reeves' Constantine Team-Up Art Means For DC's Live-Action Legacy Close Even though their DC franchises were always kept separate, the fact that fans would even want to see Smallville and Constantine cross paths after all these decades showcases just how important both of these properties were back then and remain today. Back when studios were not even willing to invest in something like a shared superhero cinematic universe, movies and shows like Constantine and Smallville were some of the handful of comic book adaptations that were available. In Smallville"s case, had it not been for that show"s success, something like the Arrowverse franchise would never have even happened on The CW.
While Constantine made his debut in Welling"s universe during the Smallville season 11 comic, it would be huge if Reeves" version of the Hellblazer was the one that the Man of Steel was to share the screen with down the line. If Constantine 2 ends up going forward, along with Welling"s Smallville revival - that he is developing with co-star Michael Rosenbaum - and both of them are successful, there is no reason DC Studios couldn"t have the two properties do a special crossover. With both of them being under the Elseworlds banner, it wouldn"t conflict with James Gunn"s new DC Universe.
Our Take On Tom Welling's Superman & Keanu Reeves' Constantine Team-Up Art Seeing them together in the DC multiverse art, it would really be fascinating to see Welling"s Superman and Reeves" Constantine have a fun crossover in one way or another, even if it had to be in the Smallville animated sequel series. With the multiverse concept at their disposal, which could even be accessed through magic via Constantine, it would be great to see the DC icons of the 2000s. But for now, fans can continue to relive Constantine and Smallville through home media releases.
