After Oscar Isaac"s Recent MCU Return, Moon Knight Season 2 Needs To Happen To Address A Major Event And The Season 1 Finale Twist

After Moon Knight"s recent MCU return after a two-year hiatus, Marvel needs to green-light Moon Knight season 2 to address many significant details from the first season. Audiences have wondered what the future holds for Oscar Isaac and his role as Marc Spector/Steven Grant in the MCU. Marvel still hasn"t stated if Moon Knight season 2 is happening, and he hasn"t appeared or been confirmed for another MCU project since 2022. However, that could change after Isaac returned to voice Moon Knight in What If...? season 3.
Moon Knight joins the Avengers in season 3, episode 1 of What If...?. The episode establishes a universe where the Avengers build mech suits to fight a Kaiju-type Hulk and his army of gamma monsters. Marc is part of the team and has a few shining moments in his awesome Moon Knight mech suit. His role is brief, but it"s great that Marvel remembers Moon Knight and the studio should capitalize on having Isaac on its roster. Isaac"s return suggests there could be interest in Moon Knight season 2, and Marvel needs to address several major events from the show.
Moon Knight Season 2 Needs To Address The Fight Between Egyptian Gods A Fight Between Giants At The Pyramids Would Draw Attention Close Moon Knight introduced Egyptian gods into the MCU and the finale delivered an epic battle between two powerful deities. In Moon Knight season 1"s finale, Arthur Harrow releases Ammit from her prison, unleashing her on the world. Khonshu fights Ammit in between the Great Pyramids of Giza while Marc and Steven fight Arthur on the ground. Khonshu and Ammit"s fight each other in giant forms, causing damage to Cairo and the pyramids. While Khonshu and Moon Knight win the battle, there should be some fallout from this fight.
Since Moon Knight, this fight hasn"t been addressed by any news outlets or any MCU characters, and season 2 could explore its consequences.
Khonshu and Ammit interacted with the environment during their fight, meaning everyone could see them. Any news network would cover two massive gods fighting and damaging international monuments. It also reveals that Egyptian gods are real, which isn"t the most unbelievable thing to happen in the MCU, but it would have significant meaning for many, especially people of Egyptian descent. Since Moon Knight, this fight hasn"t been addressed by any news outlets or any MCU characters, and season 2 could explore its consequences.
Marvel Is Finally Starting To Show The Consequences Of Phases 4 & 5 Other MCU Projects Are Starting To Crossover With Others Close One of the MCU"s biggest criticisms since Avengers: Endgame is that Marvel has struggled to connect its larger universe. All the movies and TV shows of Phases 4 & 5 haven"t done much to connect the dots and establish the larger story of the Multiverse Saga. However, that could change as the MCU approaches Avengers: Doomsday. Captain America: Brave New World is finally addressing the dead celestial poking out of the Earth from Eternals. Tiamut"s corpse possesses Adamantium and many countries are fighting over the powerful element.

Posts 14 Adamantium"s introduction shows Marvel had a game plan with Eternals, despite ignoring the film for three years. Marvel is also bringing back several characters from Black Widow and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in Thunderbolts*. The upcoming film should allow these characters to develop their stories further. Both Thunderbolts* and Captain America 4 show Marvel is eager to tie everything together and address major events from other MCU projects. Hopefully, Marvel shows the same eagerness for Moon Knight"s story.
Marvel Also Needs To Explore Marc Spector's Third Identity Jake Lockley Keeps Khonshu Attached To Marc And Steven

While Moon Knight season 2 needs to explore the consequences of the first season, it also needs to deliver on its massive season 1 cliffhanger. After Marc allows Harrow to live, Khonshu supposedly releases Marc and Steven from being his avatar. However, it"s later revealed that Khonshu only did that because he has Jake Lockley as his new avatar, a third identity that Marc and Steven didn"t know about. Khonshu uses Jake to kill Arthur and Ammit, establishing that Marc and Steven aren"t free of Khonshu yet as long as this third identity exists.
Jake"s introduction suggests Marvel still has plans for Moon Knight because it"s a massive tease that needs a follow-up. It means Moon Knight"s next appearance will be more brutal, since he is more violent than Marc and Steven. Since Marc and Steven don"t know about him yet, they may have to work together to stop him internally or work to turn him against Khonshu. Still, there is more that Marvel wants to do with this character and a second season of Moon Knight would give the studio that opportunity.
