Sony"s Spider-Man Universe Turned 3 Villains Into Anti-Heroes, But Ignored Its One Real Anti-Hero

Sony"s Spider-Man Universe could have its first real anti-hero protagonist if it released one more Marvel movie. Following Kraven the Hunter"s poor box office performance, Sony"s Spider-Man Universe will likely be put on an indefinite hold. Therefore, the future of Tom Hardy"s Venom, Jared Leto"s Morbius, Dakota Johnson"s Madame Web, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson"s Kraven the Hunter remains unknown. Still, Venom: The Last Dance may not be the last time the tiltular symbiote will appear on the big screen, as its popularity may give it a chance to return, eventually.
One of the biggest complaints about Sony"s Spider-Man Universe is its tendency to turn traditionally evil villains into rather heroic anti-heroes. Tom Hardy"s Venom would have no reason to hate Spider-Man if they ever met, and both Morbius and Kraven fought their respective enemies for a sensible cause. Despite being based on some of Spider-Man"s most famous villains, none of the six installments in Sony"s Spider-Man Universe had an actually evil main character. However, that could have changed after Kraven the Hunter.
Agent Venom Could Have Been Sony’s First Actual Marvel Anti-Hero Agent Venom Could Have Worked As A Lead Anti-Hero While not explicitly confirmed by Sony, Venom: The Last Dance apparently set up Agent Venom"s introduction with a soldier who loses his legs in the Area 51 battle against the Xenophages. The injured soldier in Venom: The Last Dance"s final battle could have been Sony"s version of Flash Thompson, who bonds with the Venom symbiote to become Agent Venom in the comics.
Related I Know How Sony Can Use Knull To Make Its Spider-Man Universe Better Than Ever Before (Without The MCU) While it feels like the MCU would be necessary for a King in Black movie involving Knull, I know how Sony could get it done without Marvel Studios.
Posts 1 Against all odds, Venom: The Last Dance"s post-credits scene suggests part of the symbiote survived the battle at Area 51. So, after Eddy Brock parted ways with his symbiote, a reborn Venom could have found his way to Flash Thompson. Similarly to his comic book counterpart, Flash Thompson could take the symbiote on secret missions as Agent Venom — a ruthless and deadly yet heroic assassin. Agent Venom even joined the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics, and he upgraded his symbiote to become Agent Anti-Venom.
Agent Venom Can Still Appear In The MCU There Are At Least Two Ways The MCU Could Introduce Agent Venom Close Tom Holland"s Spider-Man is expected to meet the Venom symbiote sooner or later. Regardless of how Sony and Marvel could make that happen, Venom"s next host after Eddie Brock or Peter Parker could be Flash Thompson. This Flash Thompson could be the same version of the character teased in Venom: The Last Dance"s post-credits scene, making the jump from Sony"s Spider-Man Universe to the MCU proper through the Multiverse. Otherwise, Tony Revolori"s MCU Flash Thompson could bond with the symbiote and become Agent Venom. Revolori"s Flash Thompson already met Spider-Man, and he could earn himself a spot in Rocket Raccoon"s new Guardians of the Galaxy team.
