Marvel fan art imagines Nicolas Cage as the live-action version of
Spider-Man Noir for the upcoming television series. While Sony Pictures has mostly been focusing on telling Spider-Man stories on the big screen, the studio is looking to bring the web-crawler's mythology to the small screen. Several live-action TV shows are currently being developed, supposedly tied to Sony's Spider-Man Universe.
After Nicolas Cage voiced him in the cast of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Subi Özil shared new artwork of
what Cage could look like as Spider-Man Noir for the live-action TV show. The artwork shows how Cage's Spider-Man Noir costume could be adapted outside the world of animation, showcasing a hopeful future for the prospective series.
Spider-Man Noir gained more popularity thanks to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, as Cage's animated version was the first big-screen adaptation of this iteration of th hero. While it was brief, Spider-Man Noir also appeared at the very end of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as part of Gwen Stacey's new team.

Spider-Man Noir will be set in 1930's New York, focusing on "an older, grizzled superhero," with specific plot points yet to be revealed. The Spider-Man Noir TV show is being developed to air first on MGM+ before it streams on Prime Video. Steve Lightfoot, who worked as the showrunner on Netflix's The Punisher, will be co-showrunning the series with Oren Uziel, who was hired back in February 2023.
After rumors emerged that Nicolas Cage was being eyed to play the live-action version of Spider-Man Noir, Cage confirmed that Spider-Man Noir talks had taken place, although he has not officially been tapped to headline the series. If the actor joins Spider-Man Noir as the titular lead, he would not be playing a conventional Peter Parker, but rather someone new as the Marvel hero.
A Silk: Spider Society live-action TV show is also in the works at MGM+ and Prime Video.
Given Cage's past misfortune with live-action superhero roles, seeing him as Spider-Man Noir would be a welcome opportunity that would allow the actor to physically play a comic book hero that he helped bring awareness to through Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It will also be fascinating to see how Spider-Man Noir potentially ties into other Spider-Man TV shows that are coming from Sony. Hopefully, more news on
Spider-Man Noir will start to come out in the next few months, especially if Cage signs on to play the live-action incarnation of him in the new TV show.
