Spider-Man: Far From Home teased its Mysterio twist earlier in the movie, though the Marvel Cinematic Universe did it so secretly that the reveal went largely unnoticed. Tom Holland has now concluded his first trilogy of Spider-Man movies in the MCU, with the actor set to return for at least one more movie, the in-development Spider-Man 4, in the future. Holland's Spider-Man movies have had amazing villains, and Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio undoubtedly ranks among the very best foes Spider-Man has traded blows with in the MCU.
While Mysterio died at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the villain was responsible for revealing Peter Parker's secret identity to the world, which set up the events of the beloved Spider-Man: No Way Home. Gyllenhaal's Mysterio was perfect for the MCU, with the character initially posing as a hero from another universe, teasing the MCU's Multiverse Saga, which would play a major role in Holland's third Spider-Man film. However, Spider-Man: Far From Home's twist reveal that Mysterio was actually a villain who had a grudge against Tony Stark was a surprise. It has since been revealed that the carefully planned twist was secretly unveiled earlier in the movie.
Mysterio Gives Away His Secret Before His Arrival In Far From Home On Twitter, @UpToTASK was one of the MCU fans who noticed that Gyllenhaal's Quentin Beck appeared in a disguise earlier in the film.
The scene in question takes place in Venice, Italy, before Mysterio first pretended to fight the water Elemental. When Peter goes to buy a Black Dahlia for MJ, Gyllenhaal's Beck can be seen quickly, with the character wearing a Hawaiian shirt and cap to blend in.
Marvel fans were able to spot the Easter egg more easily thanks to Gyllenhaal having previously shared a behind-the-scenes photo of himself in the Hawaiian shirt and black cap. The actor captioned the photo, “It’s my favorite look from Spider-Man: FFH closer #wheresbeck.” It turns out that Spider-Man: Far From Home secretly revealed its Mysterio twist early in the film, with Beck spying on Peter before making himself known, following the teen in the streets of Venice.
Mysterio's Early Reveal Makes Nick Fury Look Even Worse The fact that Mysterio was already acting on his plan early makes Nick Fury look even worse. Secret Invasion revealed Fury's huge influence, showing his network of Skrull agents, who operate all over the globe, with Talos even taking his place in Spider-Man: Far From Home while he was off in space. However, none of that was able to alert him that Mysterio was not actually who he said he was, and with the early twist that Beck was spying on Peter out in the open, neither Fury's tech nor spies managed to catch wind of that, making him and Talos look even worse after Spider-Man: Far From Home.
