8 Spider-Man Gadgets That Still Haven"t Show Up After 13 Live-Action Movies
Summary
- Peter Parker's genius as an inventor has been largely overlooked in Spider-Man movies.
- Potential gadgets that could be introduced include Spider-Bots, Parker Particles, and Webware.
- The use of technology and gadgets could enhance Peter's abilities and interactions in the MCU.
Spider-Man movies have been a staple of Marvel's big-screen presence for decades, but they've largely shied away from Peter Parker's genius as an inventor. While the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire granted Peter Parker organic web shooters, the ability to create synthetic devices to do the job has been about the limit of Peter's penchant for invention so far. There are several reasons the movies have shied away from this side of the wall-crawler, but now is the perfect time for that to change.
Peter Parker has so far been predominantly portrayed on the younger side in live-action, but that hasn't stopped other Marvel characters from displaying genius-level intellect. Moreover, the MCU's Spider-Man was closely involved with Iron Man, so he had less need to do his own inventing. However, with Tony Stark out of the picture and Peter Parker now operating on his own, it's the perfect time to finally see several of the Spider-Man gadgets that haven't yet appeared in movies.

8 Spider-Bots Help Peter Be A Hero A Gadget First Invented By A Spider-Man Villain
In a bizarre twist, Marvel Comics sees the consciousness of Otto Octavius, aka Doctor Octopus, enter Peter Parker's body. Instead of carrying out hideous crimes, the villain sets out to prove he can be a better Spider-Man than Peter ever was. He put his scientific intellect to good use, creating, among other tools, Spider-Bots. These autonomous bots may be the creation of one of the best Spider-Man villains, but they've outlasted his time as Spider-Man. With the ability to hack, track enemies, instantly access information, and more, Peter may need some extra help like this now that he's truly alone in the MCU.
7 Parker Particles have Nearly Limitless Potential Too Dangerous For The Big Screen
Pym Particles are well-established on the big screen, but Peter Parker has particles named after him, too. These impressive bits of energy are tied to the creation of the universe and, according to the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards, will continue to get stronger as the universe expands. One hero, Alpha, gets his powers from Parker Particles, using only a fraction of their strength to great effect. It's easy to see why these particles haven't yet appeared in live-action.
They're on a power level far above what Spider-Man movies have tackled so far, and wouldn't fit in well with most classic Spider-Man stories.
6 Webware Offers Unprecedented Communication The Technology Could Be Useful In The MCU
Some of Peter's gadgets are only useful for fighting crime, but Webware seems like a reasonably grounded piece of technology that could be of great use to superheroes and the general public alike. Webware offers internet access anywhere on Earth and seemed nearly impossible to hack, granting a useful tool for personal use, inter-hero communication, and tracking. While the service was eventually hacked and had to be abandoned,
the MCU could use an easy way for heroes to communicate anywhere on Earth with ease.
5 The Spider-Glider May Be Redundant Peter Isn't Above Copying His Enemies Close Green Goblin may be known for his iconic glider, but Peter Parker has developed a similar gadget for his own use. While the glider helps Peter get around NYC faster, it's easy to see why it's never made its way onto the big screen. It would be hard to explain why a hero who can quickly swing with webs needs a mechanical mode of transportation, even if Homecoming proved the downfall of web-swinging in the absence of tall buildings.
4 The Avengers Identicard Is A Practical Tool Spider-Man's Status As An Avenger Is Unclear After Strange's Memory Wipe
The Avengers in the MCU seem to be a nebulous group, with who is and who isn't a member being more a matter of circumstance than anything official. However, The Avengers in Marvel Comics are often more well-defined. There, membership includes an Identicard. Far from being a simple piece of user identification, the card can also be, depending on the comic, a tracker, microcomputer, and communication device. Should Peter remain an Avenger in the MCU, it wouldn't be surprising to see something similar pop up to keep the group in touch.

3 The Spider-Mobile Is Wonderfully Cheesy Heroes Need To Get Around
Some superheroes are known for iconic vehicles, and others just don't seem like a natural fit. Spider-Man's Spider-Mobile falls decidedly into the latter category. There's something wonderfully cheesy and in line with classic comic books about Spider-Man riding around in a buggy, but it's no surprise that it hasn't made the transition to live-action.
A car doesn't quite make sense for a hero who can effortlessly swing through city streets, but a living version of the buddy named Peter Parkedcar does hilariously appear as one of many variants in Across the Spider-Verse.
2 The Big Time Suit Is A Bold Redesign Peter May Need To Tailor His Suits To Specific Villains Close Peter has worn several memorable Spider-Man suits over his decades of movies and comics, but most of them don't quite qualify as gadgets. However, the Big Time suit packs enough tech and showcases specific enough functions to qualify. The suit, which is all back and glows either red or green, combines ideas from the work of both Tony Stark and Hank Pym, and each color represents a different mode. The red glow allows the suit to dampen any sound-based attacks, and the green offers near-complete invisibility. With Peter seemingly moving away from Stark Tech in the MCU, the suit likely won't appear any time soon.
This Spider-Man suit doesn't have an official name, but it's been dubbed Big Time in common parlance as it's the name of the story in which it appears.
1 Cryo Cubes Stop Enemies In Their Tracks The Cubes Are Also Useful Away From Fights
As impressive as Spider-Man's superpowers are,
sometimes the hero needs to rely on technology to get the job done. Peter's Cryo Cubes don't appear often, but they're shown to be specifically useful against the completely fluid Hydro-Man. That being said, there's no reason the small weapons wouldn't be equally useful against any foe, and they could certainly appear on the big screen if Peter embraces his inventive side. Moreover, the cubes are shown to help with medical transport in Marvel Comics, a feat that could showcase how
Spider-Man doesn't only help humanity by punching villains.
