I Know Exactly When Kraven & Venom Should Have Been Added To The MCU"s Spider-Man Franchise, And I"m Mad They Blew It

I am one of countless Marvel fans who can"t wait to see iconic Spider-Man villains like Venom and Kraven the Hunter fight the wall-crawler in live-action - so it pains me to think of how the MCU missed a golden opportunity to add them to Spider-Man"s franchise. Now that Sony"s Spider-Man Universe is seemingly defunct, the fates of Spider-Man-adjacent characters it spotlighted are decidedly up in the air. I"m instinctively inclined to believe that Sony has no further plans for these characters, which I think is a shame that exemplifies the downsides of Sony"s decision.
Say what you will about their flagship movies, but I believe that Tom Hardy"s Venom and Aaron Taylor-Johnson"s Kraven are top-notch renditions. Many like myself lamented that these characters would seemingly never go up against Spider-Man in Sony"s Spider-Man Universe, but Venom"s brief jaunt to the MCU"s Earth-616 proved that a migration to the more successful MCU was possible. Unfortunately, I think Sony and Marvel missed the boat, and introducing these versions of Venom and Kraven to the MCU now would necessitate an unambiguous and immediate truce between them and Peter Parker.
Spider-Man: Far From Home Ended With Peter Parker Framed For Murder Mysterio Successfully Painted Spider-Man As A Villain Spider-Man: Far From Home expertly introduced Mysterio as a villain who wielded illusions and misinformation as a tool to defeat Peter Parker as he was still reeling from the loss of his mentor, Tony Stark. His misinformation campaign included painting himself as a multiversal superhero perfectly placed to supplant Iron Man, successfully winning the hearts and minds of the MCU"s denizens. After Peter saw through his lies and attempted to apprehend Mysterio in London, the villain"s Hail Mary was to telegraph one final and particularly destructive falsehood to the world: that Peter Parker was a murderer.
Related Spider-Man: Far From Home Ending Explained (In Detail) Spider-Man: Far From Home"s ending says goodbye to Iron Man and sets up Phase 4 of the MCU in a big way. Here"s what happens and what it all means.
Posts Quentin Beck blamed Peter for his death, asserting that he did so out of the desire to be Iron Man"s one and only successor. He also used a soundbite from Peter, "execute them all," to make it appear as though he was using Stark"s weaponized drones to maximize civilian casualties in London when he was in fact commanding EDITH to execute all cancelation procedures. Unfortunately for Spider-Man, the fake news stuck, turning him into a pariah among half the population. Worse still, Beck unveiled Spider-Man"s secret identity, setting up significant turmoil in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Far From Home's Ending Set Up The Perfect Time For Venom And Kraven To Fight Spider-Man Sony's Antiheroes Could Have Pursued The "Villainous" Spider-Man Close Venom and Kraven"s origin movies established them both as antiheroes who adhere to a strict moral code that solely puts evildoers in their cross-hairs. While this is a relatively comic-accurate MO for Venom, despite glossing over his villainous origins, the same can"t be said for Kraven, as Kraven the Hunter departs significantly from the source material by painting him as a lethal vigilante. Nevertheless, with Spider-Man now successfully portrayed as a particularly powerful villain, it stands to reason that the two vigilantes would want to pursue and subdue someone they may have also believed killed several innocents.
With that in mind, I"m now convinced that Spider-Man: No Way Home should have featured the fight we all want to see.
Venom recognizes Peter Parker in the post-credits scene for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which is why he is transported to the MCU"s Earth-616 along with other Spider-Man rivals aware of his identity (though he"d spend the entirety of his jaunt at a bar). While Kraven the Hunter didn"t so much as reference Spider-Man"s existence, meanwhile, it"s not beyond the realm of possibility that the world"s greatest hunter might have learned this crucial information somewhere in his travels. With that in mind, I"m now convinced that Spider-Man: No Way Home should have featured the fight we all want to see.
Now It Doesn't Make Sense For Kraven Or Venom To Fight Spider-Man Peter Parker Is Anonymous Once More Custom image by Yeider Chacon While it"s unclear how great the scope of Doctor Strange"s spell is, everyone has now forgotten who Peter Parker is. Even if there is a workaround that allows inhabitants of other universes to retain that knowledge, however, the way that Aaron Taylor-Johnson"s Kraven and Tom Hardy"s Venom have been characterized now precludes them from pursuing Spider-Man, who is once again a superhero. While Venom: Let There Be Carnage admittedly hinted that Venom harbors a deeper resentment for Spider-Man, I find it hard to see how Sony and Marvel could justify the noble Kraven reneging on his morals just this once.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson also portrayed the MCU"s Quicksilver, who is probably more likely to turn up as a multiversal variant during the climax of the Multiverse Saga.
This ultimately means that these versions of the characters have been written out of the MCU, which makes me pretty sad. While the multiverse provides the ideal in-road for Sony"s Kraven and Venom to join the MCU after the death of Sony"s Spider-Man Universe, I don"t see why Marvel Studios would want to do so without it preceding a well-justified brawl between them and Spider-Man. Unfortunately, I feel like this is curtains for both characters, and we might instead have to look forward to all-new renditions created within the MCU.

Spider-Man Spider-Man is the name given to several individuals who have employed a spider-moniker throughout Marvel Comics. Typically gaining their powers through a bite from a radioactive spider, the different Spider-Man heroes employ super-strength, agility, and intellect while utilizing webbing to swing and tangle up their foes. The most notable of these Spider-Men is Peter Parker, who remains one of the most popular superheroes throughout the world.
