Loki Season 2’s New Deleted Scene Sets Up 2 Powerful Villains For Thor 5

A newly-released deleted scene from Loki season 2 references two iconic Marvel characters who could become the perfect villains for Chris Hemsworth"s Thor in his as-yet-unannounced MCU sequel, Thor 5. Loki season 2 marked huge transformations for Tom Hiddleston"s former God of Mischief, as he fought to save the multiverse and eventually became its lone protector. In the midst of the action, the season had time for some quiet and intimate moments, however, most notably one shared between Loki and Owen Wilson"s Mobius in Loki season 2, episode 2, "Breaking Brad."
While taking a break from their interrogation of Brad Wolfe, Loki and Mobius bond over a slice of key-lime pie in Loki season 2, episode 2. This sequence was originally longer, as a newly-released deleted scene shows that Loki once used this moment to list all the people who considered him a "problem" (via Variety). This list is pretty long, including the likes of Nick Fury, Jane Foster, Maria Hill and Heimdall, twice, among several others. Most of these names were included simply for comedy, but two could hint at a bigger storyline for the MCU"s rumored Thor 5 movie.
Loki’s Deleted Scene Sets Up Hercules & Amora As Thor 5’s Villains Hercules & Amora's Enchantress Both Battled Thor In Marvel Comics Close Among the many characters referred to by Loki in Loki season 2"s new deleted scene were Hercules and Amora. Both Hercules and Amora, otherwise known as Enchantress, were formidable adversaries of Thor in Marvel Comics, so, even though they both later became allies of the God of Thunder, Hercules and Amora would make fantastic villains for Marvel Studios" possible Thor 5. Marvel would evidently need to make Enchantress officially canon, as her mention in a deleted scene means little, but Hercules is already set to make his mark on the MCU.
After the disappointing performance of 2022"s Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel Studios needs to take some big risks in Thor 5 to get the magical franchise"s reputation back up to its high standard. There has been speculation of a darker tone in Thor 5, and introducing Hercules and Amora, both of whom are godly characters in Marvel Comics, making them incredibly powerful, would be an excellent choice. While Loki"s deleted scene may not be officially canon, it would still be great for these characters to battle Thor in the MCU"s future.
Marvel Has Already Introduced A Version Of The Enchantress To The MCU Sylvie Is Inspired By Marvel Comics' Second Enchantress Marvel Studios has already tested the waters of bringing a version of Enchantress into the MCU, as Sophia Di Martino"s Sylvie was inspired by the second character to adopt the moniker in Marvel Comics, Sylvie Lushton. Lushton, who came from Broxton, Oklahoma, a prominent location for Sylvie in Loki season 2, was given her powers by Loki so that he could manipulate her and use her in his schemes. Since she is a different character to Amora, however, and since the MCU"s Sylvie is wildly different, the original Enchantress could still be introduced to the MCU.

Posts Amora"s Enchantress, introduced to Marvel Comics in 1964"s Journey Into Mystery #103, was one of the most powerful magic-users in Asgard"s history, making her a formidable soldier for Odin and adversary of Thor and Jane Foster. While she has been primarily depicted as a villain, Amora has sided with Thor a number of times, usually for the betterment of Asgard, which even saw the pair become brief love interests. This would be an interesting story to explore in Thor 5 following Jane Foster"s demise in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Hercules Needs To Return After Thor: Love & Thunder Brett Goldstein Debuted As Hercules In Thor: Love & Thunder Unlike Amora, Hercules has already been made officially canon to the MCU, as Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein brought the godly son of Zeus to life in Thor: Love and Thunder"s mid-credits scene. Zeus urged Hercules to hunt down Thor and defame him, which sets up an epic battle between Thor and Hercules in the MCU"s future, even though neither has yet been confirmed to be returning. Hercules" MCU debut is incredibly exciting, as, although he began as an adversary to Thor, he very quickly became a powerful ally and has even been a long-running member of the Avengers.
Zeus: It used to be that being a God, it meant something. People would whisper your name before sharing their deepest hopes and dreams. They begged you for mercy without ever knowing if you were actually listening. Now, you know, they look to the sky, they don’t ask us for lightning. They don’t ask us for rain. They just want to see one of their so-called superheroes. When did we become the joke? No. No more. They will fear us again when Thor Odinson falls from the sky. Do you understand me, Hercules? Do you understand me, my son?
Hercules: Yes, Father.
Brett Goldstein"s return to the MCU as Hercules could bring a new permanent and consistent superhero into the franchise, which is exactly what Marvel Studios needs after the losses of mainstays Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff. Hercules made his Marvel Comics debut in 1965"s Journey Into Mystery Annual #1, and has been central to the Marvel Universe ever since, so his development in the MCU is essential. After his mention in the deleted scene from Loki, interest in seeing Hercules return has been reignited, so hopefully this happens very soon.
