I’m Convinced Glen Powell’s Perfect DCU Casting Is Better Than Him Being Batman

I"m very confident that there"s a far better DCU casting for Glen Powell other than Batman. Currently, the new DCU needs to cast a new Dark Knight for the upcoming movie Batman: The Brave and the Bold. However, I have a much better casting in mind for Powell, even though the actor has been a very popular fancast in recent months.
Robert Pattinson"s Batman stars in Matt Reeves" The Batman trilogy, protecting a version of Gotham City that exists outside the new interconnected DC Universe that will soon begin with the animated series Creature Commandos and James Gunn"s Superman as its first live-action movie in 2025 which is set to star David Corenswet as a new Man of Steel. As such, the DCU still needs its Batman for this new universe, one that will presumably interact with Superman and more heroes. As such, I have a far better DCU casting for Glen Powell beyond Batman, though one that"s still connected to the Caped Crusader himself.
Glen Powell's Acting Talents Could Make Casting Him As Hush Even Better Than Casting Him As Batman Thomas Elliot, The Man Batman Could Have Been Close For some time now, Glen Powell"s rise as an A-list Hollywood actor in recent years has made him a top fancast for the DCU"s new Batman. Likewise, Powell himself has said that Batman would be one of the few superheroes he"d actually be interested in playing, and people also love that he had a small role as an investment broker who got threatened and attacked by Tom Hardy"s Bane in 2012"s The Dark Knight Rises. However, I"d like to make the argument that Glen Powell would likely be far more entertaining as the classic Batman villain Thomas Elliot aka Hush.
In the original DC Comics, Thomas "Tommy" Elliot was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne"s who became darkly jealous of Bruce"s "freedom" after the death of his parents. This was especially true considering Doctor Thomas Wayne had previously foiled Tommy"s secret attempt to kill his parents and inherit their fortune when he saved the life of Elliot"s mother. However, Tommy did kill her years later, making it look like an accident after he smothered her with a pillow.

Elliot kept his darker tendencies hidden until adulthood, and he even became a renowned neurosurgeon while hiding his resentment towards Bruce. Allying with Riddler after learning that Bruce and Batman are the same person, Tommy covers his face in bandages to hide his identity and forges a master plan to torment the Dark Knight using several members of Batman"s rogues gallery. Hush would become a recurring threat to Batman, and at one point, he even performed plastic surgery on his own face to make it nearly identical to Bruce Wayne"s, cementing the idea that Hush is the man Batman could have darkly become.
Making A Batman Fancast Into Hush Could Create One Of The Best DC Villains Of All Time It Would Be Very Exciting and Unique

In my mind, Glen Powell playing Hush sounds far more intriguing and unique than playing Batman. After all, Powell"s starring role in 2023"s Hit Man where his character uses multiple disguises and characters in his work proves he has the unique range to play the Batman villain. He could certainly hit the uncanny valley of a villain who ends up looking just like the hero he hates. Likewise, Powell"s rom-com history naturally demonstrates the charm and charisma that would make disguising himself as Bruce Wayne plenty convincing.
