This 4-Minute DC Movie Scene Is The Best Of Henry Cavill"s Entire Superman Career

Superman had an incredible journey in the DC Extended Universe, and Henry Cavill"s version of the famed character shines in one scene that encapsulates everything wonderful about his iteration. After the DCEU timeline begining with Man of Steel, the cinematic universe went through several ups and downs, and never saw its own Superman trilogy realized. Despite some inconsistency in quality, many saw Henry Cavill as one of the brightest spots in the entire universe. With multiple appearances across various films, Cavill is argued to be among the best of all the live-action Superman actors.
Regrettably, Man of Steel didn"t receive a proper sequel that would have allowed Superman"s story to be better explored. Instead, Zack Snyder"s trilogy expanded with the controversial Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a film that not all audiences were receptive to. With this and Man of Steel as the building blocks to the DCEU, the universe didn’t consistently connect with mainstream audiences as much as Warner Bros. wished, and instead gained an almost cultlike status with a fervently devoted fanbase. The passion of this fanbase resulted in the realization of arguably the greatest Superman scene ever put onscreen.
Why Superman Vs Steppenwolf In The Snyder Cut Is The Best Zack Snyder's Justice League Saw The Character Fulfilled Close It is a marvel that Zack Snyder"s Justice League exists, and it is astonishing that, after four different Justice League scripts, it is as good as it is. One notable scene, where Superman returns from the dead to fight Steppenwolf, embodies the full journey of the Superman character as Zack Snyder intended it. While there were many complaints about a darker, more brooding Superman in the DCEU, this scene shows where that was all headed toward. Superman here smiles, stating that he is "not impressed", before blasting Steppenwolf with incredible power.
Zack Snyder had a controversial take on the world of Superman, injecting nihilism and suffering into everything that surrounded Clark. While Henry Cavill"s Superman never reached his brightest point in the original, theatrical Justice League or its precursors, this scene from the Snyder cut shows the culmination of Superman. Following the horrors of defeat, violence, and death, Superman is finally able to see hope in the world, even as he wears a black suit to embody the darkness in rebirth. With his team surrounding him, a newly joyful Superman is finally able to become the character audiences know and love.
Why Superman Is So Important To Henry Cavill's Career Clark Kent Is What Henry Cavill Is Best Known For Close Henry Cavill was a little-known actor when he was cast in Zack Snyder"s Man of Steel. Following small parts in films like Stardust, and a main role in The Tudors, Cavill seemed destined for more with his leading-man good looks and suave, British charm. With the role of Superman in the DCEU films, however, Cavill was immediately launched into the stratosphere, with many believing him to be among the best to have ever played the role. Cavill brought his new and unique charisma and style to a Superman for a new generation.
Notably, Cavill has not found any other roles that have been as significant in the years since, despite appearing in some excellent films. Superman was clearly dear to him, with the actor even making plans to return to the franchise after his cameo in Black Adam. While Cavill has continued to work since, and has been celebrated for his supporting roles in films like Mission: Impossible - Fallout and Enola Holmes, his leading roles have been fewer since Superman. Fortunately, he has projects ahead, including the Highlander remake and Voltron, that can hopefully help return him to the spotlight.
