Agatha All Along"s Phenomenal Finale Had 1 Major Failure, And I Hope Marvel Can Redeem It In An Upcoming MCU Release
Agatha All Along has come to a sensational close, and the MCU series explained just about everything it set up, with one notable exception. Agatha All Along"s final episodes revealed so much about the series and its characters in its last chapter while also delivering a big, bombastic climax to the show in its penultimate installment. Following this up with flashbacks and recontextualizing in its finale,
which functioned as an incredibly effective coda, gave the series a great deal of depth and I believe added much richness to the Marvel world.
Billy Maximoff was a major part of the show, and many audiences were surprised to find Scarlet Witch did not appear in Agatha All Along. Serving as a sequel to WandaVision, the show examined a great deal of the Maximoff family and their place in the MCU. This will likely be explored further in the untitled Vision series. However,
the Maximoffs were not the only important characters in the show. Following this, a significant detail from Agatha"s backstory was revealed, although these details were not nearly enough for me.
Agatha All Along's Finale Answered A Lot Of My Questions About The Series Almost Everything The MCU Series Set Up Was Answered By The End Close Agatha All Along answered almost all of my questions and more in its final episodes.
The show gave satisfying explanations for Billy"s backstory and his possession of William Kaplan"s body among other things, including revealing that Rio Vidal is indeed the MCU"s Death. The story also detailed the Witches" Road in greater detail than I even expected, tracing its origins back to Agatha and her son, Nicholas Scratch, creating a satisfying conclusion for the series.
The finale even explored more about Billy"s powers in an unexpected way, with the reveal that the Witches" Road had never actually existed until it was created by Billy.
This twisting and warping of reality resembled what his mother did to Westview, and even resulted in some of the same kinds of violence and destruction. The series did a great deal to set itself apart while also connecting to WandaVision both narratively and thematically, although one dynamic did not receive enough attention.
I'm Disappointed Agatha All Along Didn't Show Agatha And Rio's Backstory The Past Romance Agatha And Death Shared Was Not Explored Enough Close After Agatha All Along,
I still don"t know where the relationship between Agatha and Rio came from.
During the flashback sequence, we see that Rio Vidal, as Death, gave Nicholas Scratch more time. Still, eventually, she did have to take him away from Agatha. This led to much of the conflict between her and Agatha. However, their relationship is clearly rooted in something much more than we got to see in this final episode. From here we can see the bitterness that played into the narrative of the show, but not much else.
I wish that I understood the dynamic between Agatha and Death better than I now do. When Agatha All Along revealed Rio Vidal"s identity,
I expected to learn more about the two characters meeting and falling in love.
Instead, little attention was given to this. When Agatha and Rio first interact in the past, there is clearly already love between them, and we only get to see the slow dissolving of their relationship. I wanted more than this, especially with these two great performers.
I Hope Marvel Reveals Agatha And Rio's Story When Agatha Returns To The MCU The Relationship Between Agatha And Death Could Be Explored In The Future Close Death is everlasting, and this surely means that the character will continue to persist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to this, Agatha, as a ghost, is set up to continue in future adventures with Billy Maximoff. These stories will likely be largely focused on the Maximoff family, but
there is a great deal of room to explore the continuing relationship between Agatha and Rio in the afterlife, which will give them time to examine their past in more detail.
Understanding Agatha"s own roots, and her connection to Death, could make for compelling story details in a future Marvel project.
Whether with a romantic comedy setup, or something darker, the implied past relationship between Agatha and Death is interesting and unique. I have no idea how any witch could actually meet and begin a romantic relationship with death. I want to see this examined in the universe, and with both characters still set to be important, this feels fairly likely.

Agatha All Along has answered many questions, but the conclusion of the series has also brought up many more.
These characters are simply too engaging and compelling to leave alone, and there are countless opportunities ahead to bring them back. With charismatic and unique performances behind them, Agatha and Death clearly have more stories to tell in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With
Agatha All Along over, it will be exciting to see where these characters appear next and in what capacity.
