Following the airing of Creature Commandos season 1, it was unclear what had happened to Clayface following his encounter with the team that left many to think he was now dead. However, after Gunn got asked about this plot point on Bluesky, the DC Studios co-CEO stated the following about the iconic Batman villain:
The reports of Clayface’s death have been greatly exaggerated. He is quite mushy though.— James Gunn (@jamesgunn.bsky.social) 2025-01-22T19:06:52.156Z Gunn stressed that the "reports of Clayface"s death have been greatly exaggerated" while also jokingly noting that the DC foe is "quite mushy though." At the time of this story"s publication, it is still undetermined which Clayface was used from the comics in Creature Commandos season 1.
